Have more porridge/cereal
?
Any suggestions for breakfasts - going to try and change my HE - B's in a bid to encourage more pounds off next week. I usually have weetabix/bran flakes or if I am at home, porridge. Also going to cut bread (albeit Nimble) out completely this week.
Sorry if this has been answered by someone else. As you know I often can't get on here on Tuesdays and it seems to be a very busy day for posts - I'm only just catching up.
Anyway, back to breakfast. If you don't have the Crackerbread with your porridge, you may be missing out on some fibre, but I don't think you need to add syns. To be honest I'd just have the sachet you're allowed and forget it, after all it won't be every day will it?
I almost always have a free breakfast if poss, it leaves the HEs for later. My favourite quickie breakfast is plain couscous with fruit and a Mullerlight - it keeps me full till lunch (free on Green). If you were having a red day you could have bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms & egg. Or just scrambled/boiled egg and wholemeal toast for a day when you haven't decided whether it's going to be green or red!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Rice pudding:
Had another go at it last night using Honey's mum's SW class' recipe.
Not sure about the quantities as my first attempt came out very very thick and hadn't really absorbed enough water so I think maybe cutting down on the amount of rice in the recipe would be a good idea. I had to siphon some off and add more water. Turned out fine and I'm thinking may be even better with toffee muller lights...which will be my experiment tonight.
Only had 3.5 syns yesterday instead of the 37syns I had the day before (mostly in the form of nutella!), so day one was good (thanks to Lois who i seem to remember is the day one creator).0 -
Have skimmed quickly through the posts since Monday (lots & lots of them!!).
Welcome to JeannieBeanie and Settler, I'm sure you'll get all the help and support you need from us on here.
Katyk, congrats on being S.O.W. and your DD sounds like a very thoughtful child, awww!
Alyssa I have the recipe for the Weetabix cake if you want it, but I find the Ferrero Roche thing to be altogether too tempting I'm afraid!!
Honey I'll do the SAS log for you, no problem, I hope it'll help to focus your mind.
Gotta get me some magic knickers!!!!!!!
I've found that no matter how much I slim (and I still have some way to go) the waist won't come back like it used to be (is this middle-aged spread??).
Got to go, I'm doing a school run for my daughter's little charges this morning, see you later.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Had a good day yesterday....until last night. Went to a meeting and had my first glass of mulled wine and 2 mince pies (sigh)
Oh well, today is another day and I'm just gonna keep at it, surely considering the volume of food I normally eat I will have lost my 2 lbs.
I'll just have to wait and see.
Everyone else is doing fantastically well and I'm really inspired to keep on , keeping on!0 -
Jeni - I think that they said at class to add either a vanilla muller or a toffee one so that might turn out good!!
Consultant, thanks for the ideas for breakfast. I'm ok when I am not at work, its when I have to take breakfast with that I get bored of bran flakes, weetabix etc. I might try the plain cous cous tomorrow, if I am organised enough to make it tonight. Think I will also try the rice pudding again, I made it a while ago (in a pot tho, much prefer the microwave idea). Jeni - I had it for breakfast and it was a nice alternative to porridge and free too! You made me laugh at the thought of your 37 syns worth of nutella!!
Trying to resist the terrys cho orange bits today. There are only a few left so am encouraging the others to ear them. I had one, thats my treat for the day! Have told the girl who is sitting closest to them to shoot me if she sees me near them :rotfl:0 -
I have just read your email honey28. but consultant31 has beaten me to it.
The Sas log really does help. good luck.
Please send me the weetabix cake recipie constultant31. it really was lovely. I'd like to make it for my dad who's visiting for a week and has lost loads of weight recently. he gets up every morning and after visiting his alotment walks round the reservoir at worsbro bridge (barnsley) with his mates.
I'll have to walk him round Ruislip Lido everymorning while he's here.
Another desert that someone brought to the meeting that was nice was a jelly and fromage frais thing. It had 1/2 jelly with a few raspberrys in then topped with the fromgage frais it was 1/2 a point on anyday and was quite satisfying for an after dinner sweet.HOW MUCH ?0 -

I've posted the Weetabix cake on the recipe thread (for those who don't know where that is, there's a link on post number 1 of the thread).
Mix2Max is a bit complicated if you're still trying to get your head round the red and green days. However, if you're confident with those, Mix2Max is just another option when you're getting bored. Here are the rules:-
Each meal decide if you fancy Green or Original (stick to that choice for that meal)
Choose again when it's time for your next meal
Snack on Superfree Foods all day - foods that are Free on both choices
You can still choose 4 Healthy Extras
Still take your daily Syns allowance (if Original & Green Syn values are different, count the highest if eaten outside of a meal)
If you have a starter or a dessert, make it Superfree Food or count the Syns.
Example breakfast:
Lean bacon, scrambled eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms – all Free Food on Original
2 Bowyer’s sausages – as you’re having an original meal count the lower Syn value (1 Syn each)
2 slices of toast from a 400g loaf – a Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice
"On a Mix2Max day, everything you eat, apart from your main courses* that isn't a Superfree food or a Healthy Extra has syns. If the food you choose (between meals) has a higher Syn value on one choice than the other you should count the higher Syn value.
*If your main course contains any syns, count the Syn values appropriate to the Green or Original choice you've been following for that meal."
I hope that's easy to follow - the main thing to remember is that you must eat Superfree foods ONLY as snacks (or count the highest syn value).
Alyssa my Mum & Dad live in Monk Bretton, just a couple of miles from Worsbro' Bridge - small world!!! I have done many a lap of the reservoir myself, lol.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
