Hi all
Just a little note to say many many thanks for your good wishes. The op went ok, I was home by 7pm last night there was no tear, more a fibrous growth around the site of the orignal injury, it was this that was causing the problem by catching between the thigh bone and the knee cap and causing imflammation (At least that is what information I call recall from the Consultant).
The massive dressing was changed today, but the knee and lower thigh has swollen a lot so it now a support bandage and transparent dressing? Have struggled to sleep but thats pretty obvious I would.
Not even allowed to go in a pool for at least 10 dayslet along all my hopes to start back in the gym
And to top it off I have been eating like a horse  hopefully that will settle down in the next few days.
Will post again tomorrow hopefully, take care all.Proud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

10 days will soon go and remember .........horses eat grass!RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

MissMoneypenny wrote:I read somewhere that as a body gets use to a diet, we should have 6 days diet and then have one day where we eat what we like, to fool our metabolism. So you might find you have helped your diet katyk?
Thanks MissMP - funnily enough, that theory seems to have worked!:j
I have just been back to the gym for my overall fitness test (weight, height, BP, body fat %, BMI, strength, flexibility and lung power) and I was chuffed to find I have lost a further 2.5lbs - that is about 5lb in just over a week!!!:D
Even better was to find my body fat % has gone from 46.1% in late Sept to 39.2% today. Not bad at all in about 6 weeks! :T Also took my BMI down by over 3%, and was told my flexibilty and strength were fair-good (much better than expected). Lung power fell into 'excellent' category - must be all the shouting at the kids - and BP was fine too, well within the normal.
Overall I am one chuffed puppy tonight!!!
Hope it's going as well for all others.0 -
Glad to here you're so fit and healthy Katykand well done on your excellent weight-loss.
Glad your op went well Suggs. Don't worry too much about what you eat whilst you're recuperating - it won't be long before you'll be back to full strength.
Off to watch CSI closely followed by Law & Order - ooh brilliant, I love 'em.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi,
I'm hiding upstairs on the computer while my mum and sister (staying for the weekend) are polishing off bags of sweets watching cowboys and indians on bbc2. You may think that sounds very virtuous but I have had an Indian buffet for lunch as I went out shopping with them and overdid it in a BIG way. I now feel fat and bloated (period due tomorrow so I'm kidding myself some of it is water retention! - Sorry Suggs, too girly?)
Also had a cookie.
Will eat nothing but fruit and veg tomorrow in the vain hope I can counteract the splurge.
Good news to see you back Suggs - and welcome to all of the new people - it's getting hard to keep up!
Have a good sunday - have persuaded family that a Sunday carvery lunch is not a good idea (can never eat anythng vaguely SW when you're a veggie at those places - it's veg lasagne or something else laiden in sauce, cream or fat). I'm actually cooking a gammon joint now for them for tomorrow to have with sweet potato chip things and veg. Easier for me to join in (without the meat) and cheaper too!

ConsultantThanks, :cheesy: Yes I will get my husband to hide the scales!!! I'm terrible for weighing myself everyday. He hid then for me for week one of the diet but I begged him to let me have them back on Friday and wish I had'nt. In fact I will give them to my lovley next door neighbour. I'm pleased to know Ive not blown it and I am trying very hard tonight not to pick.
katyk Well done :T thats fantantastic! I must get my body fat% done at my gym it would be a good comparison to see what mine would be at Christmas. You too can have chips!
Try SW chips - they're easy to make and they are FREE food on green days!
All you do is cut your potato into chips (I usually make them quite chunky) then par boil them for 5-10 minutes, drain well, and allow to dry off for a few minutes. Spray a baking tray with frylight, then spread the chips on to it and spray them too. Cook for about 30 minutes in a hot oven - 225C, not sure what the other settings would be. As they're free food you can have as many as you want to satisfy your appetite, and you'll be less likely to pick at things for the rest of the day.

flis21 wrote:Hi all,
Have been really good again this week, until last night!! We had a chinese, but I was good and had half a portion of boiled rice, half a portion of beef chow mein and a chicken with pineapple. I did have a few prawn crackers tho (I know they are just fat, but I love them!) and a bottle of wine. All in all it was pretty bad, but it could have been a lot worse!
Hi Flis - your chinese sounds reasonably healthy - did you calculate how many points it would be on WW? It may not have been as bad as you think, and if you were good for the rest of the week you could still lose weight.
Do you go to WW classes?
I tried WW for a while, and the thing I liked about it was the website - their online food diary is excellent. I found the diet itself quite restrictive though, and I used to find myself constantly thinking about what and when I could eat next! They introduced the no-count plan after I stopped going, which I think might have suited me better.
Enjoy the fireworks. Roast chestnuts and hot chocolate are far better than burgers or hot dogs!

Sorry Suggs - too exited about my own test so i just posted without reading any other entries first. Glad to hear op went well and don't worry about lack of gym for a while. You are much better to take your time and get better properly than try to rush it. As for eating more, try to eat loads of raw veg crudities with a spicy salsa and it shouldn't make any difference how much you eat.
Welcome to all the newcomers too. Stilernin - you are an inspiration. that really is a super loss to date!0
