Welcome back Rachel , I hope it turned out to be a 'make' rather than a 'break' holiday.

When we came back from New York in April, I was shocked to find I'd lost 2lbs. But, like you, we'd walked for miles and, to be honest, I found the food over-whelming and couldn't face much of it. The portions are so ridiculously massive that it seemed to put me off (shock, horror!)

I hope your weigh-in is a good 'un!!!"""

Thanks - not sure about the make or break - jury is still out on that one. I know what you mean about the portions in the US - too big to comprehend. You get about a quarter into a meal and lose interest as its just too much!
WI in half an hour - will be back with my tail between my legs later.

Hi Ju, welcome to the thread. Its a great thread and much better to post than to lurk, you'll get more advice that way :rotfl: There are a few WW-ers who I'm sure will be along soon to advise you. Good luck with it and do keep posting.

Rachel - New York, Lucky you. If you cant put on a pound or two on your holidays when can you eh? Sorry to hear things are great with OH, I do so hope and trust that they work out for you. Its not easy when home life is difficult (from experience :o ) so I hope that things start to settle for your sake. Well done on going back to SW after your holiday, hopefully it won't be as bad as you are expecting. I'm in a huff with the SW scales at the minute :rotfl:

Consultant - the best thing about the sweet potato soup is that it really only takes minutes to prepare. I forgot that I add an onion to it as well ( i have amended post above). Make sure you let us know of any others your members make.

I'm in better form today. Only a few days to my birthday and my big party

Hi Honey you're right , have been lurking. I'm just a bit unsure about posting as i'm a bit computer illiterate (to my shame). My son used to help me on the computer but he's recently left home so things are a bit hit and miss at the moment.Shout up anybody if i do something wrong.

  • Hello :hello:
Ive been reading everyones chats for the last week or so and you have given me the confidence to loose some weight and get to my goal weight. In fact I joined Slimmimg world this morning! Very shocked by how much weight I had gained but I do feel very determined to lose it again and some more! :p

Ive never posted a chat before, but I think the support from all of you will be great, (I'm hopping this turns up in the right place when I press submit, as i'm not too sure what I'm doing!)

Loislane - can you please add me to the 2lb club ? I am aiming for 2 pounds a week. My weigh in day is Wednesday.

I'm trying to get my head arround the plan and work with what I had already bought on my shopping trip on Monday, but have managed to get through today, but have used 11 syns already, not much left over for tonight, so will try and plan better for tommorow.

Hi Jolly jules and welcome. Well done in taking your first steps towards a more healthier you. There are a lot of us on here doing SW (myself included) and we also have our very own SW consultant so if you do get stuck please just ask. I had never posted on a chat room before coming onto this site and now I am addicted :rotfl:
  • Thanks honey28
I had been getting so fed up with myself, I have 2 pairs of jeans that fit me now and a wardrobe full of clothes that I just cant get into! I gave up over the summer and the weight has crept on slowly ever since. I'm dredding christmas and finding something to wear for parties, but wont buy any new bigger clothes.
I joined a Gym in January, but again gave up over the summer, but I will dust off my trainers and get back to the gym too.

    Hi guys

I reached my goal today. I can now become a gold member- it's free as long as I do not go over 5lbs over goal weight. I weighed in half a pound less than goal so I lost 1lb this week, I am soooooo chuffed. I am over the moon really and she asked if i would consider becoming a leader which i said i would definitely consider but perhaps not at the minute, too busy with other things.

well done to all the other losers this week too
