Lois, thanks for your post. My sister in law is doing slimming world at the minute, she tried taking me through the diet, but it seems really overly complicated. Think I will try weight watchers for a while, as I am familiar with it and it is quite straightforward; but then if it is not working too well, or I want to try something else, I will consider sw.

Sw is so easy - honestly. There are two plans, on one you eat as much meat or fish as you wish - all day, every day if you like. On the other plan (my personal favourite) you get to eat, potatoes, pasta, rice until it comes out of your ears :D

What could be simpler - you're never hungry and you lose weight. As the song goes "who could ask for anything more"?

    Evening all

Here's the results for this week, although there are a few people who haven't posted yet. Some excellent weight losses this week, three people lost 3 pounds, which would normally be guaranteed Slimmer of the Week, but they are pipped at the post by Lisyloo, with a fantastic four pound loss - well done :T

    Have a good week everyone.

    LL

p.s. I F.U.B.A.R.ed the chart this week (I love that expression - thanks Delly!) and hopefully managed to replace the numbers from last week's post, but if there's anything that doesn't add up, please let me know.

  • Yay, well done Lisyloo :T :T

Well, off to bed now, I have an early start tomorrow.

I never knew that - I must check them out. Do they have a tall section?

    Lois,

I know that Wallis have a petites section... I've always loved their clothes but being such a short ar*e:rotfl: (27" inside leg - despite being 5ft 5) I could never get trousers to fit me (cos I was too big for the petites section). I would give them a go anyway... I always seemed to be trailing about a half a foot of fabric behind me where ever I go so I'd say you've got a good chance their clothes will fit you.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
  • Madauri - how did you get into reading TP? I got to start Wintersmith but OH took it off me ..:( as he had nothing to read. Never mind, it'll only take him about a half a day more to finish it.

Sorry, I'm being so rude.... welcome everyone who's new to the thread. If you consider yourself to be even slightly greedy I can highly recommend Slimming world. Well done losers and maintainers...(i'm so jealous). I'm going to weigh in tomorrow morning, so I'll post my result when I get in from work. (I'm on the Eels school of thought on that one). Day one again tomorrow. I haven't been following a program at all this week (again) but I'm fairly certain I've maintained ... only because it's the end of the month and I've no cash left till payday - why I became a moneysaver in the first place.

good luck for the week ahead...

Hi Katyk - that's a shame to lose a class when you were used to it. Have you thought of speaking to your doctor? You can get referred to a gym for the cost of a prescription for so many weeks, and then get a discount on the entrance after that, if you are considered to be dangerously overweight. I imagine that it would cover aerobics classes as well as weights and CV machines.

Thanks Lois, Had not thought of that. To be honest I got a real surprise when my body fat said it was quite so high as there are many people worse than me. I am 5'5" and around 15 stone so I did not expect it to be good but did not expect 'dangerously' either. Not on any benefits and have 1.5 wages coming into house (DH works f/t, I work p/t) so could afford gym really - just too stingy and not convinced I would keep it up! Still walking to work and back every day and frequently going for a walk in the evenings so pedometer is well used - I average around the 15000 steps a day, even reaching just over 30000 on my best day (albeit followed by about 2500 next day when all I wanted to do was vegetate by telly!).
I may pop up to doctor if diet does not work this time, but at heart I know problem lies not with the diets themselves, but with my lack of self discipline in keeping to them. They all (RC, SW, WW, SS) work just fine and provide a healthy eating plan.....but only if you actually do them!

    Hi guys

Hope everyone is well. Have had a good week despite the blip at pizza hut and I am still feeling positive. I hope to have hit that 0.5lb target tomorrow so that I will be at goal- fingers crossed.

Miserable weather again today, makes me want stodgy food usually but hopefully I will not give in.

    Good luck everyone this week.

  • Well done to Lisyloo:T

Hi to all newbies and returners.

Is fruit free on SW? I'm just doing a healthy eating/smaller portions/exercise more/ diet, but know that fruit has a lot of sugar in it, so I don't want to overdo it.
    Thanks.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
