Hi peeps I have had one hell of relapse so soon into my diet.
I went shopping y'day as i have an awards do to go to tomorrow and one of the fitting rooms had a 'Trinnny & Susannah' type mirror. i was horrified with what I saw
the day got worse when I relalised I was officially a size 16.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can kick start things.
Right now I feel like s**T!!

Hi M4B - don't be too hard on yourself, it's realisations like your Trinny & Susannah experience that can give you the motivation to get slim. Are you following a particular plan, such as SW, WW or RC? If not, adopting one of those may give you something to focus on. I know I like to have some rules to follow rather than just trying to cut down.
except in wallis where I was a 14 but they are well known for being 'pleasant' to their shoppers.
I never knew that - I must check them out. Do they have a tall section?

Keep checking in here, we'll try to keep you on the straight and narrow. :D

Had my body fat % measured about a month ago and was horrified that it came out at 46.3% which upt me in the 'Dangerously Obese' column. HELP!!!!

Does anyone know of any other clubs who offer exercise like RC? I really do do better when I know I am going to be weighed at the end of each 7 days.

Hi Katyk - that's a shame to lose a class when you were used to it. Have you thought of speaking to your doctor? You can get referred to a gym for the cost of a prescription for so many weeks, and then get a discount on the entrance after that, if you are considered to be dangerously overweight. I imagine that it would cover aerobics classes as well as weights and CV machines.

    Hello everybody,
I am cooking the second half of my squash according to that recipe posted here, with onion and pepper. It smells yummy!
Consultant, but I am in Devon. Actually I've just remembered there is a Lean Mean Boiling Machine in the office, but I was not aware it was George Foreman's. As I said, I am not familiar with many local brands yet.

  • evening all, hope you're all having a nice evening. I've lost 0.5kg this week for Lois's list. Not bad considering my mum gave me a loaf of home made bread on saturday! Welcome to all our new starters, everyone here will support you in whatever diet you're choosing to do. Just watch out for that boot. I'm still having nightmares about that boot . . . . .

Sorry (again) I thought you must live in Spain after reading:-

Quote Madauri: it's only that this brand didn't ring a bell - they don't sell it in Spain, and I haven't looked at them very much in the shops recently. Quote.

So as far as I can tell - you're a Scot who's moved from living in Spain to living in Devon now - I am getting warm???:rotfl:

Lol KatiePC you'll be seeing more of the boot if you keep scoffing home-made bread (mmmm, I can smell it from here). Well done on the loss :T

Ah, I see (I think). Where about in Devon are you? I originally come from Bideford - the Little White Town of North Devon. It's a beautiful county.

Just a quickie hello (been visiting OH's mum this weekend) to say I believe I have maintained. I think this because I couldn't weight myself at the usual time today cos we didn't get home til late on. Normally I would weigh myself after rolling out of bed before I get dressed ... ! So a maintain it is and we'll see what next week holds. Twice people have asked if I've lost weight though, and I got a new top which although it's still a size 18 I know I'd have been uncomfy in before - and I wore it on Saturday and felt fab!

Too many posts to respond to everyone individually but well done to those of you with losses (especially TallGirl - SOTW coming your way I reckon!) and welcome to all the newbies. Stick with us, we're all getting there!

Hi Flis, and welcome. Have you thought of trying Slimming World? I really believe it is the perfect diet for people with a lot to lose. I've seen lots of stories about people who have lost huge amounts following the SW plan - the most I'm aware of was NINETEEN stone! If you can't afford to join, you can get a 7-day plan from their website to start you off, and then you could buy a pack - essential for finding out about healthy extras and they're always for sale on Ebay. And, there are plenty of people on this thread who do SW so we can give you any help and advice you need, including looking up syn values on the website.

Lois, thanks for your post. My sister in law is doing slimming world at the minute, she tried taking me through the diet, but it seems really overly complicated. Think I will try weight watchers for a while, as I am familiar with it and it is quite straightforward; but then if it is not working too well, or I want to try something else, I will consider sw.
