Thanks to one and all, I have pulled myself together today. Two reasons - I spilled at last and admitted my bad patch on here, and my (late  ) period has finally arrived. I managed a 20 minute Rosemary sesh this morning and I had cornflakes and OJ for brekkie (I actually HAD brekkie - yay!
), and lunch has been tuna rolls with a Mullerlight and fruit. Dinner is going to be salmon (which I don't really like, but I'm going to my boss's house for tea and a sort of planning/strategy meeting so I'm not going to argue!
)
I've just been SO bad, I've been drinking wine and lager, eating cheesecake/chocolate/pastry, abandoning breakfast  . And that's actually led to me feeling crappy again, which has led to comfort eating. It's amazing how much better I feel already today by forcing myself into my routine again.
Thanks all for the boots/general loveliness, I hate to be so whingey but I was seriously struggling there and knowing you guys are around and understand this helps SO much. :T0 -
mmm my mouth's watering at the thought of a chip butty made with thick sliced white bread and butter - licks lips!
I often think certain foods sound gorgeous, but then when you eat them you realise that actually they're not. One example is fish and chips - they smell so nice when other people have them, but now that I've educated my palate to eat low fat foods, they're so greasy!

Afternoon all, sorry for been so tardy with my reply. I was in Chertsey on Monday, drove to Manchester on Tuesday night and got home last night. Oh the joys of been busy  Fell off the wagon last night, I only had a turkey salad roll all day and managed the gym, only to surcumb a chinese takeaway with the OH last night
Still back down the gym later and aquacise afterwards.
Cant believe questions were asked about an egg buttie, but from my travels I recall a bread roll been referred to a a 'barm cake'? so confusion lives on. In my world it is a fried egg (runny yolk) in two pieces of bread or a roll and HP sauceBacon is an optional extra
Eels, hope all is ok? no stern talking to from me, just recall how well you have been doing, this journey is horrible, but at the end it will be worth it. just wish all the shops I pass didnt have windows in them :rotfl:
Well done loopy on that loss, great news you should be feeling pleased as punch with yourself. :T
Delly thanks for those words, good to see you lost a little, The healthy eating will be suspended for a few days for me once awayIn answer to your question, I am losing weight and not going to slimming classes, not saying its easy, but I would feel awkward going to a class and it can be difficult to fit into the schdule. But one thing is for sure, the support shown by you people in this forum, my family and friends, is keeping me going.
Two days till Mallorca, even I an starting to look forward to a week with the childrenNot sure about the white bits Lois I am afterall one big white bit :rotfl:

Hi all
Well done Eels, for getting back your determination. It's wanting to lose weight that will bring you back to the straight and narrow, even if that's the long and winding scenic route! (I know it well)
Delly - it is possible to lose weight without attending a class - it does depend on how honest you are, but in the end, if you cheat you're only cheating yourself. Something that has worked for me in the past is finding a slimming buddy to pair up with - you get an element of competition, and moral support.
Suggs - barm cake is a northern expression mainly used in Manchester and Lancashire I believe. If you're in the North East, you're more likely to have stottie cake (huge bread rolls).
Have a good evening everyone.

Oooh, fried eggs with ketchup! I hadn't thought of that. I sometimes add a little grated cheese on top (which keeps it free 'cos it's a HE :A- I fry eggs with practically no oil nowadays).
And Delly, Wintersmith is as brilliant as the other two!
Thank you for all the info on butties, we don't do egg butties in Spain. In Madrid they have what you'd call a squid buttie as a favourite though. And in Barcelona they do not put butter in the bread. Instead they rub a ripe tomato cut in two on the toast or open roll, which makes it juicy and tasty and lower in calories than butter! A little olive oil and a pinch of salt are optional.
Mmmm, I'm going to see if I have a tomato left (shame on me, my fridge is nearly empty).'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -
CuddlesTC wrote:Yup, buttie = sandwich. Two other outstanding examples of the species are the chip buttie and the bacon buttie, preferably made with buttered cheap white sliced bread and with no sauce of any type (you sauce-eating heretics!
)
Yes, I'm with you, no sauce, especially on the egg buttie, but maybe a splash of tomato sauce on the chip buttie! This is all too much, I can't stand it, may have to go make some SW chips with vinegar and tomato sauce and a 'fried' egg to make myself feel better. Anybody want some??
Well done on the loss Loopy, that's terrific :T
I've had a lovely day out today with a friend. We went to York and had a good old spend-up - came back skint but happy :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Madauri - if you use frylight then its free altogether
Are you from Spain?0 -
Yes honey, I'm from Barcelona.
I do use frylight sometimes, others I just do sort of a "grilled" egg - they come up very well using a non-stick pan.'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -
My dad used to make micro egg butties for us when we on diets at home
he'd crack the egg on a saucer & nuke for 1 minute, then put on a roll with low fat mayo & some pepper. Not quite the same as fried but of course frylite hadn't been invented then !
Consultant, whats York like? We're going to Filey for a week next week and were planning a day trip to York. I thought we'd go to the castle museum with DD & then just have a wander. Someone suggested the shambles, but then someone else said they were very expensiveWe don't particularly want to buy loads of stuff but i like getting little keepsakes when we go on hols
Any recommendations ?
Thanks,

Morning All, just back from a busy week working my way around the lovely Cornwall and Devon. Glad to see you are all doing so well although I did laugh at the buttie thing. I did not know what a chip buttie was when I first came to this country. Maduri Barcelona is great and I love their tomato bread and ham (sorry can't remember the Spanish name for it).
Suggs hope you enjoy Mallorca I stayed on the north east side not that touristy really pretty and green unlike other islands in the Med.
I have been pretty good this week as you know I am not doing SW or WW. Ate lots of fish while I was away and actually did not have that much wine. Fell of the wagon a bit yesterday, McChicken Sandwish at 3pm (no lunch) then no dinner just lots of wine and some cheese at 9pm. Not good but today is another day.
So glad it is Friday but i am working Sunday so will be a short weekend. Anyway this is getting too long, may log in later as I am working from home.Save £12k in 25 No 49
