I made the syn free lemon meringue pies in ramekin dishes. Perhaps I did something wrong but the meringue part tastes like omelette. Lemon Omelette in fact :rotfl:

As a guess did you use the whole of the egg instead of just the Egg white to make the meringue?

Well done KatiePC on been Slimmer of the Week!! :D And congratulations to you also alyssa_mae.

I made a spicey sweetcorn soup on Sunday, just simmered sweetcorn, in veggie stock and added loads of Chilli powder to it. It was lovely and my kids liked it also.

Just getting ready to drive to Manchester this evening, have a meeting first thing in the morning, could go on all day.

Hope we are all doing well. :j did I mention Im going on holiday Saturday :)

I'm feeling positive this morning (but it is only the second day) so thanks to whoever set this list up (Lois?) its a brilliant idea and is going to save me money as I will be cutting out all the rubbish food.

Hi MissMoneypenny - thanks for your positive comments. I'll accept the praise for the weekly update, I'm pleased if people find that it motivates them. :) I can't take credit for the rest of the thread though, I'm not sure who started it originally, but it really is a joint effort by all who post here, so I think everyone needs to give themselves a pat on the back. :T

edit to add - the chart wouldn't have been possible without the help of GreenFingers, who looks after the 2 pound coin savings club so thanks to him too ;)

    Hi Again everyone,

I wanted to report back my weightloss. I think it's been at least 2 weeks since I've been weighed. (remember my 5lb gain from my holiday? - keep that in mind when you go away on Saturday, Suggs). I've managed to lose a whole 1lb! I must admit, I'm delighted. I think I'm suffering from the post-post holiday, birthday, DS sickie blues.

Well done KatiePC for MSE slimmer of the week... and Alyssa Mae for SOW in your group. I haven't managed to make it back to SW myself, I just weighed myself on the scales at home - cash is a bit tight this month cos DS is in creche instead of being minded by relatives.

Here's a question for you all... do you think it's possible to lose weight without attending a slimming club? I can still follow the SW plan at home since I can't really afford the classes for now. What do you think? And Consultant 31 - how much would I have to pay if I did eventually decide to go back to the class?

I hope everyone is well, and enjoying the lovely crisp air at night (can you tell that Autumn is my favourite season?).

That's what I am doing at the moment, Delly. Just make sure people around do not try to sabotage your efforts, seek their support instead and it will be much easier. I feel the difference in that a lot, the meetings helped me feel more motivated.
I still remember when I began a seriously severe diet some years ago -one in which I ate very little, thought of food night and day because I was hungry all the time, even dreamed with food, lost weight really slowly and the flipping doctors and dietician did not believe I was doing it to a tee, when in fact I was. I lasted about a year. The day I began, when I arrived home and told my parents, my father responded by going to the kitchen, bringing the whole box of cold meats to the table, making a fabulous chorizo sandwich and eating it in front on me. That's the sort of support you do NOT want.

  • :rotfl: I know what you mean Madauri. The funny thing is, my mum brought me over an apple pie on my birthday - I remember the old WW way of counting it was 9 points for 1/16th of the cake!... and today she called over and brought me yummy M&S lattice mince pies (have no idea why, other than she knows I like them). She's not trying to sabotage me. It's her way of being thoughtful -its ok though. I'm going to give them to my 11 1/2 month old son as a snack with custard. I'm sure he could do with the extra energy! (even if he is a wee pudding and almost 2st in weight ).

BTW: OH says he's trying to help me out by drinking the litre bottle of bacardi we brought back from our hols... I could do with one of those myself......

Edit: Madauri - it just goes to show that you really do need to eat lots to lose weight... the difference is you have to eat lots of the right stuff.

Delly, I find that when I don't got to class I am not as strict with myself. Its just me and the scales. At class its me, the scales and the SW helper!!

I think you need to rejoin once you use up all of your 4 weeks holidays and AFAIK its £9.50.

We can support you on here but you do need to be in the right frame of mind to do it alone. I dont have the willpower and so I admire all of you who are doing it home alone and very succesfully too I should add. Well done to you all :T
