oldbat1 wrote:hello there, well I've decided enough is enough, time to lose weight, BUT I am skint, live abroad and would like to ask any of you slim chicks/geezers if there is anywhere I can download (for free) WW or SW diets? HELP PLEASE I am sick and tired of being FAT
Hi Oldbat and welcome to the Lose weight thread. I cant help you out with the downloads but if you try the SW website I'm almost sure there is a 7 day menu planner. Have you any way of getting the SW or WW (or similar) monthly magazine?0 -
Hi Oldbat, Honey is right, try the sw website. I use their online only service which is £20 per month so about the same as a weekly class and using that combined with this thread has really helped - especially today!
I work in food, and today we had our monthly sales meeting, catered by the development team. The theme was Mexican - chilli, home made tortilla chips, spicy meatballs, quesadillas, gorgeous sandwiches, chocolate cakes and biscuits. I am so proud of myself! I made it out having had only 2 biscuits! I kept thinking, 'no, what would the guys on MSE say?' and got out relatively unscathed. I think I was thinking about that chuffing great boot! Enjoy your evening folks!0 -
madauri wrote:ok, the alien has a question: what exactly is an egg buttie?
I can't believe you really mean that you don't know what an egg buttie is  you're obviously a poor, deprived little mite. One thing I can tell you is that they're delicious, specially when the egg is soft cooked and drips alluringly all down your t-shirt when you bite into it.......yum!!!!!!!
Delly when you go back to group, you only need pay the £9.25 rejoin fee if it's cheaper than paying for missed classes (which it will be if you miss more than 2). You can still lose weight without attending class if you're strong-willed. Make sure you don't think "I'll get stuck in tomorrow after I have this lump of cake"cos tomorrow just gets further and further away.
Suggs have a lovely holiday!
Welcome to the thread oldbat, like I always say in group, you've taken the most important step by admitting you need help. Being skint is no problem, healthy food may cost a little more (i.e. fruit and veg) but think how much you'll be saving by not buying the fat and sugar filled rubbish!
SW have a 7 day taster on their web-site https://www.slimming-world.co.uk and I'm almost sure WW do too.
Another good way is to Google 'low-fat, low-sugar recipes' - it brings up loads of things. Also, of course, there's an excellent recipe thread on here (link at Post 1).
Lol at KatiePC thinking of the big boot whilst in a meeting - it's a wonder it didn't give us all nightmares.
We were discussing Christmas at group last night and deciding how to approach the food aspect.
I feel a bit torn....on the one hand, it IS Christmas (comes but once a year and all that), but on the other hand, we need to remember that Christmas only lasts for 2 days, whereas our 'loosened corsets' tend to stay loose for about a fortnight
Has anybody thought this far ahead yet?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I'm trying soo hard not to think about it, in terms of my waist and in terms of my purse
ps - its only 67 days away!!0 -
well I don't know whether I have ever had one because I am not sure what it is. Who knows, maybe I have them often. Or maybe not. They sound yummy in any case.
But will no one tell me what exactly an egg buttie is???'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -
As far as I know its just a fried egg in between two rounds of toast ( or bread) - thats my version of an egg buttie0

Yup, that's what it is (no just about it though!) They go down a treat with a few SW wedges on the side :jI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Please would somebody mind sparing a sec to give me a boot? <sniff>
I'm having a dire couple of weeks- no excuses, I'm just not getting the exercise done and I'm not eating well. And I've stopped losing weight. I'm so annoyed - why am I doing this to myself?

Eels (stern voice) why are you doing this to yourself?
Come on, you can do it - for goodness sake, if I can do it anybody can, my gluttony is legendary.
It's only a few weeks to Christmas, in fact only 67 days as Honey so helpfully pointed out. If you get your head in gear, you could be ½ stone lighter by then - think how good you'd feel!
I believe in you, I know you can do this :TI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
So... it that it? a fried egg sandwich?
Interesting... That is one way I have not tried fried eggs. I'll have to.
