    Hello All,
**slinks back into thread after too many weeks away** :o
Happy New Year, and here's to a slimmer 2007!
I did really well before December, and was up to a 12lb weight loss by mid November (started September), and then it all went a bit Pete Tong I'm afraid. My 40th birthday celebrations started in mid-December, and didn't really seem to finish before Christmas arrived.

I happily packed away the tin of Roses choccies, the After 8's - still have 3 boxes of mince pies, but they can't tempt me now - you can have too much of a good thing!

So, for the first time ever I'm doing the Slim Fast Plan. Has anyone else tried it, or is anyone else using it? Any advice or experiences welcomed. Day one hasn't been so bad, I actually like the banana milkshake, and the meal bars are tasty and take ages to nibble through, so I haven't felt too hungry as a result. Have drunk so much water and tea I'm constantly on the loo.

I have a friend who has been on the Lighter Life diet since last autumn, and she's 6 1/2 stone lighter now (after having baby in April) - her experience has spurred me on to try harder, and not having to plan a meal, or think about snacks with calorie values is a bonus, because they're already fixed with SF.

Weigh in this morning was a disappointment, but not a surprise - I've gained 6lb, so sabotaged half my loss in a month! My aim is to be 7lb lighter by the end of January.

Looking into gym membership tomorrow, if they have a special offer on I'll be delighted. Failing that, it'll have to be swimming - too cold, wet and muddy round here to walk (there aren't many paths in the back of beyond) and the bridleways are a mire.

My weigh in is Mondays, and I still have my MSE diet buddy Triker to report into on a daily basis, and try to keep ourselves on the straight and narrow.

    Good luck all! :j
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

  • Hey
I hope everyone had a good New Year.
Just had my weekly weigh in and lost 1.5lbs this week, and it was 1lb last week, so 2.5lb to be added to the chart which makes 18lb :)
Hope everyone else is doing well
    let's go for it girls.

    here's to a slimmer 2007 :D

Never mind Suggs - mine was horrible too! 5lbs in total I think but need to weigh at SW to make sure.
Yesterday was my first day back on the wagon and it was relatively easy - think I'm just fed up of food. Back in work now and am quite busy so hopefully today won't be too bad either.

    Onwards and upwards!!

Never mind Suggs, its been off before so it shouldnt be a problem again. I stepped on the scales in the house this morning and even without my specs or lenses I could see that it was off the richter scale so dreading WI tomorrow night. Off to Mr tesco this morning so stock up on slimming friendly foods. Going to read my SW book today and start from scratch writing down everything I eat etc.

Thanks for those words Honey and Rachel, it seems I have great ease to put on the weight, sometimes it seems to drop off as well  Im just glad I didnt buy any scales yesterday! I'd be on and off them all day long.

Heading off for a swim now. just had some porridge for brekkie, made it with water.

    Keep smiling all.

Bad news here too - 5lbs on :o but I'm going to use it to incentivise myself. I find that when I've gained a large amount of weight over a short period like holidays or Christmas, it really makes me work harder to get it off again.

JenP - congratulations! :D I'm really pleased for you. Would you like to go in the on-hold section of the chart with Cathys1 and Eels100?

Hi guys, I'm creaping in here ashamed of my weight, never mind the Christmas gain.

Noticed you mentioned a chart. Is there a chart on here somewhere for logging our progress then?

Also, does anyone know where to get good advice on running, ok, power walking shoes for heavy people. I've started running/walking, but it kills my ankles, and I've been told I need good shoes - especially if I'm heavy!!!

    All advice gratefully received!

Click here for more information about the 2 pounds weight loss club, and to find a link to the most recent chart. There will be a new chart posted here later this evening.

If you want to join the 2 pounds weight loss club just let me know.

I suggest you go to an outdoor pursuits shop and ask them for advice - either somewhere they sell things like hiking and hill walking equipment, or a sports shop - try not to let them sell you something expensive that you don't really need though!

Hi guys, just back from Asda where I noticed (and bought 2 to try) Muller Light layers. In my store they had strawberry or blackcurrant and raspberry flavour so I got one of each to try. At the checkout I met my consultant who told me that they are 1 1/2 syns each and just new out. Just had the blackcurrant and rasp one and its lovely, a nice alternative to muller. It has a layer of fruit compote at the bottom and a lighter version of the muller light on top, if that makes sense!! Anyway, someone might be interested - I've really sickened myself of muller over the past few weeks so this is a nice alternative, albeit its not free.

Lois, don't worry about the gain, you seem all the more determined to get it off again.
