Hi everyone
Please can I join too? Joined the January Grocery Challenge as need to pull in the reins and sort out my debts, but also need to get weight back in check. Think coming on here may help my motivation. Hope so!
Did really well about 18 months ago but weight gradually crept back for various reasons I won't bore you with now. Anyway, I started on Friday when I came back from Christmas at my parents. I have also got myself back to the gym which was a bit of a killer - really annoying as I was so fit and 4 weeks or so of not going and stuffing my face with whatever was around (and not particularly enjoying it either) has meant that I feel like a blob. But not for long!
Anyway, moving forward.... I was 93.5 kg when I got weighed on Friday morning and hope to lose 2-3 kg by the time I weigh again on Thursday (I had been eating so much that cutting down so much AND getting back to the gym should show good results the first week).
I want to lose 14.5 kg but realistic this will take a while. My interim goal is to lose around 1kg a week (think that is 2.2 lbs - the scales at my gym weigh in kg), aiming to lose at least 8.5kg by Easter.
I am going to weigh myself on a Wednesday so shall I email my results then?
Looking forward to being part of this. Happy New Year everyone.Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Happy New Year Slimmers
I'm dreading my return to the UK and the scales, I hope you lot have been doing better than me. A week today I'll be back to class wondering why I ate all those things!
Will post the bad news then.
Take care guys and gals until next week xI haven't got one!0 -
Well I'm up and alive! Stayed in but still managed to get very close to bladdered! Felt a bit yukky this morning so I took the dog out for an hours walk (the weather is quite bright here in the North) and now feel loads better. Weighed this morning and got a bit of a shock too - but it's only strengthened my resolve to get back on the wagon - feel very bloated and fat but I'm hoping that at least a bit of it is water retention from the wine I drank last night and that it will miraculously drain away through the day ( I can live in hope!)
Anyway, I'm making a SW leek and potato soup for dinner today - I'm really fed up of all of the Xmas sweets and chocs now and have put them away in the cupboard under the stairs so I don't have to look at them anymore.
Happy new year to you all and BE GOOD!!!!0 -
Morning all and Happy New Year. Hope you all had a good night last night and are ready for the challenge!!
Going to do the same as you Rachel and rid the house of all remaining bad things, I am only eating them because they are there and not because I am hungry. If they arent there then I can't eat them then can I lol!
Havent any food in the house because I havent been grocery shopping since Christmas so need to go today and buy some "good" food.
Already had my 2nd pint of water, consultant - are you impressed!! Its nothing to do with the hangover and being dehydrated, honest0 -
Hi guys. Hope that you are all well. I have been so busy and haven't posted for a few weeks. I last weighed on the 13th December and was just below goal by 2lb which is great, however that was my last weigh in as I am pregnant and could only weigh until 12 weeks. I have kept it a secret until my scan so that I could make sure all was well. I'm now 14 weeks pregnant and although I'm trying to follow the principles of WW still, my cravings for crisps in particular are very strong. However I am still determined not to go mad and as I weigh 3 stone less than when I was pregnant with my other two children I can still get into non- materninty clothes. I have some size 14's from prior to the weight loss which I have been wearing and I have some bigger maternity clothes which i will wear when I can no longer fit into the non- maternity clothes. So as you all lose weight I will be trying hard not to put too much weight on. I only put on just over 1 stone with the other 2 but obviously was a lot heavier then. I can't imagine lugging all that extra weight around now.
Anyway I wish you all a very happy new year. Good luck with the weight loss.

Hi all,
I've weighed in this morning at 15st 2.5lbs - was actually quite pleased as that was what I weighed 3 weeks ago - no idea how I've managed that!
I've started on the Easy GI Diet by Helen Foster - I've tried most of the recipes before and the meal plan is full of the sort of food I like so I know it will suit me.
My biggest challenges will be to get more exercise and to give up wine, and to help me with my motivation I'm going to try to listen regularly to Paul McKenna's CD which I've downloaded onto my MP3 player. A friend of mine who was VERY sceptical about it used it last year and found that her life-long and serious addiction to chocolate disappeared. She was gobsmacked as she had been convinced it wouldn't work and only used it to show her OH it wouldn't work! She didn't weigh in for about 6 weeks and lost over a stone which she has kept off so I'm hoping that the thought of that will keep me listening regularly.
Sorry for the long first post, good luck to us all this New Year
