For all those who have indulged and now feel a bit guilty at best or a bit yukky/fat/bloated at worst - just think of it as giving your metabolism a bit of a boost!!
Cos I've found during the many diets I've been on that whenever I had a special event and indulged a little I might put a few pounds on but the next couple of weeks or so I lost better than I had done for quite a while. So you might have put on but I'll bet alot of you will have a good weight loss over next month... (fingers crossed!!)
You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs:rotfl:

Can I join Please???????
I am 5ft 6ins and weigh 14st 10lbs:eek:
I have tried ww before and am not interested in doing that again. I am just wanting to lose a lot of weight (approx 4 stone to start with!!!)
Main downfalls are:
Cheese
Potatoes
Alcohol
Butter
Pastry
I have already started eating a few more veg and drinking loads opf water, and my husband has decided to go veggie and so we are doing a lot of experimenting with new flavours, ingredients.Am also trying to cut out processed foods, but am on a budget and don't want my two kids to feel like all we eat are salads.
Anyone with some inspiration, let me know some fun food.
ThanxProud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -
Afternoon all  and Happy New Year!
Hi and welcome to all the newcomers, it's nice to see so many of you, I'm sure you'll find lots of advice and support from everyone on here, so stick around.
In case anyone is looking for the first 2 pound weight loss club update, I'll be posting that tomorrow evening, then it will return to Mondays from next week. For the newcomers, if you're attending a slimming club, post your weight loss on whatever day you go, and I'll add it to the next list. If you're going it alone, make Mondays your regular weigh in day.
JenP - congratulations!I'm really pleased for you. Would you like to go in the on-hold section of the chart with Cathys1 and Eels100?
I've just about cleared my house of naughties, apart from the fact that we still have lots of cheese in the fridge, but that's more of a temptation for DH than it is for me. I've planned my menu for the next week and ordered lots of veggies with my shopping, so that I can make a big pot of free soup to take to work for lunches.
Tomorrow is Day One of the attempt to lose weight, but also, and probably more of a challenge for me, it will be Day One of my resolution to give up chocolate (again). If I can get through 2 weeks without being tempted, I'll be fine, but I know I'm going to suffer some cravings in the meantime.
Good luck to everyone for successful weight losses this year.

Just a quick post to say well done to Jenpoptab, thats great news and glad you are keeping well.
There must be something in the water on this thread lol0 -
Just a quick post to say how relieved I feel now that I'm back on a diet! Sounds strange I know but I actually feel in control again - all the bad stuff has been put away and I have had only free foods so far today and will be making a healthy soup for tea with some nice bread.
I'm actually glad to be on a diet again! The pressure seems to have been lifted a bit as I now feel that the "runaway" binging and gorging on chocolate/biscuits etc is over!
Hopefully it'll stay that way for at least a couple of days! I have surprised myself.
Anyone else feel the same?0 -
Rachel I know exactly how you feel. I'm the same, really sick to death of all the rubbish I've eaten and looking forward to getting back to real, filling, wholesome food.
A warm welcome to all the newbies - Kassel, SuzieW, Angelse, EmmaBZ, New Mum, ThriftyK, LizzyB and AngelUK. I hope you find all you're looking for here with us.
JenPT congratulations:j
Honey yes I'm impressed with your water consumption, but sadly I think it may well have to do with over-indulgence of a different liquid :rotfl:
Madauri just to point out that parsnips are not free on red either (one of the many reasons I have so many green days).
Micschick the fact that the yoghurt doesn't soften the cereal as much as milk is a good thing, in that it then takes you longer to chew the food which, in turn, helps to make you feel fuller! The taste of natural yoghurt can be altered with sweetener, or add some chopped banana or, of course, as Madauri says, use Mullerlight (yum!!!)
As for the saying about 'Failure' - to the best of my knowledge, it was Margaret Miles-Bramwell, the founder of SW who coined the phrase.
Back to AngelUK - you mentioned potatoes and cheese being two of your downfalls. If you were to follow the SW plan, you could have as many potatoes as you could eat (on green days) and 2 or even 3 ounces of cheese a day as Healthy Extras (grated, this makes quite a pile). Can't help with the butter and pastry I'm afraid :rolleyes2 but after a while, I can almost guarantee that your taste for very rich stuff will wane (even if it doesn't die completely, lol).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I always feel fantastic when I start eating a Sw Diet. THe only trouble is I get a gnawing emptiness after a few days as though I want to eat LOADS OF PASTRY! I've got off to a good start, think I've lost a couple of pounds since I started on 28th so I'll update my weight loss in the morning!0

Happy new year to everyone I am rejoining this thread and the 2lb challenge as of this week....I lost the plot a few weeks ago when my mum had a fall and my DD decided to quit uni. Fortunately I haven't done too much damage I must have been subconciously choosing healthy food. I can still get in my size 14 clothes and sit down in my jeans so all is not lost.
I am going to have a month off the wine, I love the stuff but it really slows my weightloss, then I might try another month who knows.
I need to lose around 2 stones before I shop for a fab outfit for my sisiter's wedding in August and my son will be graduating this year too not sure when yet.
So I have the motivation, I hope to get back on the SW eating plan but I probably won't be going to the meetings because I work away a lot.0 -

Hi LL
That would be fantastic if you could put me on hold. Baby due 29.06.07, so I should be back at WW mid August and I have been told i don't have to pay for six months if I am over goal anyway because of having had a baby, so either way being at goal or not I won't have to pay- hurrah!
Thanks for all my congratulations messages.

If that's the case I'll be steering well clear of water, no matter how healthy it is.... :rotfl:
