honey - throw that rubbish out. We have half a stone to lose in 5 weeks:D
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Well I've just written an epic reply on here and we've had a b***** power cut! It's back now (obviously) and I've forgotten half the stuff I wrote, so nuts to it (low syn ones of course, lol).

Suggs don't worry about the weight gain, most of it will be water through eating foods you've been avoiding lately. It'll come off as soon as you get back on track.

Rachel, yum that veggie Mexican soup sounds lovely. I've got a tin of red kidney beans in chilli sauce (they've been in the pantry for years) so I'll use them in it tomorrow. Thanks for the idea!

Madauri sorry to upset you - though I love the picture. Parsnips have too many carbs in them to use as free food on red days. About the only free root veg are carrots, turnips and swede for red days.

Hello to all the new posters, welcome to the thread!

Had my group tonight and they managed to gain about 3 stone between them over the Christmas period. We've started a mini target challenge, to get off a minimum of ½ stone by the end of the month. Fingers crossed the whole gang manage it, it'll give us all a bit of a boost. It should be fairly easy after all the junk we've been eating over the last week or two. A week of being on track 100% should see 3 or 4lbs off for most of us.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year (even if it is a day or two late!):D

Congrats on the baby Jen. My goal for this year is to lose weight so that I can start trying for another baby so I'm totally envious!.

Eating more healthily is much easier when you're back at work Honey, so don't fret too much about tomorrow. Lucky me has to fast from now until after 11 as I have a scan on my liver at 10 (doctor thinks it's gallstones, I think it's IBS but it's just as well to check). I'm sure I'll have no more problems when I get into the swing of things - I can't ignore my body crying out for vegetables any more.

Lois, can I rejoin the 2lb club please? I promise I won't disappear this time. Day 1 for me tomorrow - I'm setting my goal at 1lb per week for a while. The reason why I haven't been on for so long was because I just couldn't commit myself to a weighloss plan - now I'm putting myself first until I acheive my goal.

BTW - I've managed to put on a total of 6lbs since I've been away, not too bad considering the amount of rubbish I've been eating.

    Hope you're all well - here's to a lighter 2007.

    DB
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Happy New Year all and although it is rubbish being back in the UK after 3 ½ weeks in South Africa it is a joy to be back with you guys.

I had a fantastic holiday but 3 ½ weeks without internet access and having to eat out has unfortunately made its mark and I am now

11.12 stone – I think that is 4 lb more than when I left.

Lois is it OK for me to be active again on the 2lb board?

South Africa was great, really lovely weather, beaches, golf courses safari trips, fantastic hotels and lovely lovely food.

They really are spoiled out there, all restaurants and cafes are so cheap and the food freshly prepared with good ingredients. I have eaten so much steak while I have been there and even fillet only cost £5 on the menu. Their fish is so fresh and I really want to try to cook some myself something I never normally do.

I have also eaten lots of crisps and nuts but this has got to stop and I must get back to the gym although we did play 8 rounds of golf out there.

I think my biggest downfall as usual was the alcohol. Nearlyrich like you I need to give it a rest. I am not sure I can go a whole month without it but I will try to do the following if anyone thinks it is a good idea.

    Cut out larger 100%
    No spirits
No softdrinks only water (lime and soda if nothing else to drink in pub).
    No more crisps or nuts
    No biscuits
Limit myself to 7 glasses of wine a week.

January are going to be such a busy month as I work in Insolvency and this is the time debt really hits. I will however try not to eat rubbish on the road and choose wisely from the restaurant menu’s.

That is it for now, sorry I have been unable to read all the way back but Congratulation on the pregnancy JenP my sister is due 23.06.07. Suggs get back into that gym you are usually my inspiration

Hi PiixxySue and welcome aboard :D It's so much easier when the OH joins in too, though they often don't even know they're doing SW ;)

Welcome home TallGirl, your holiday sounds wonderful. I love fish too, but it's so expensive that I really can't afford to eat it as often as I'd like. It's quick and very easy to cook as well, which is always a bonus.

Thanks Lois, 5lb by 5th Feb sounds great, just about to hit the shops as house is totally empty so should be extra motivation.

Trying to get some work done but not really working so will hit the shops and then get things moving, had 205 emails when I got back so lots to look at.
