Good news for me!
I went to SW WI last night for the first time since the end of November and apparently on their scales I am the same as I was then!! How does that happen?
Actually I did weigh myself at home at the beginning of December and had lost 2lbs (I think) so by my reckoning I have put that back on over Christmas - not the 5lbs I thought.
My scales aren't very good so I'm going by the SW ones (not just because they gave a better result!).
In a strange way it has really motivated me to carry on - who'd have thought that a gain can be a positive thing?
Lois - if you get a chance could you change the table to show just a 2lb gain not the 5lb please? Sorry to be sucha pain!
I'm still going for it with the 7lb by Feb 5th challenge - fingers crossed!!
Have a good day,

Hi all.
I was hoping I could join.
A few days ago I said to hubby 'tell me honestly is my belly getting all big and flabby?'. He said 'no darling, but your bum and thighs are'!
So that's really made me think I need to do something, I want to lose a bit of weight. Mainly I need to tone up and get fit but if I could just lose 8lbs I would be happy.0 -
Hi, can I join too? Not really doing any specific WW or SW diet thing but have developed a serious habit of cake, biscuits and chocolate that I need to stop.
Would love to lose a stone but for the time being 8lb will do to get back into some of my nice clothes and back to how I was when we got married.
Have been good since 1 Jan and have made low fat banana cake from the recipe thread but it tasted so good it didn't last long between the 2 of us!!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

That's exactly what I want. I got married 2 yrs 9 months ago and I haven't dared to try my dress on since. I might get it out tonight just to inspire me to work hard.
I look at all the clothes I took on my honeymoon and nothing fits me anymore and is all in the spare wardrobe.
Luckily OH has realised he's getting a gut and hates it so I've got moral support in my quest to do more exercise and eat more healthily.
How long are you hoping to take to lose your 8lb? Maybe we could set a joint (realistic) goal time?0 -
Hi everyone hope everyone enjoyed christmas and the new year, i went to sw last night had two weeks off and for some strange reason i lost half a pound i nearly fell off the scales, after all the mince pies and choccies i've eaten im dead chuffed anyway and am now going to stick to my diet, the OH has decided to pack in smoking so im going to stick to my diet.
Also i was shopping in asda yesterday and they have got 10 mullerlights for £2.00 saving you £2.10 which is a bargain the new layer versions are also included.

Yeah my OH has moaned he wants to lose weight too. He's doing better than me already though. He is the one that wants everything low fat but then he wants high protein on his diets too.
A joint goal time would be good.I never seem to lose more than about a lb or two a week really and some weeks not even that.
Not sure what would be realistic, what do you think?
Could aim for the first bit of 5lb by the end of January or something like that?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
ohhhhh bad me ohhhhh bad me
yesterday was not so good!
did have SOME sweets - but still better than the last few weeks
so at least i go in the right direction!!
i love to hear about all your achievements. keep them coming :TI have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work0 -
Don't you just love husbands cupid :rotfl: Welcome to the thread!
I came on last night, typed a huge epic, hit post reply and it came back telling me that the forums were down for maintenance  But I survived!!
pretty good day food wise, didnt make it to swimming or WI as OH got held on until late at work. Brought loads of fruit with me to work today again. I only bought a little fruit when I went to Asda this week as in past weeks I have thrown a lot out, that and muller lights. This week I only bought 4 mullers and some fruit and its all done today! I think I must have just kept looking in the fridge and thinking oh no, not another muller light!
In work so just a short post, hope you are all doing well today!0 -
glad to see everyone knuckling down and getting ready for the new year. I had a lovely Christmas and New Year but unfortunately it was filled with all the wrong kinds of foods - salted cashew nuts are a particular downfall of mine. Still the house is now empty of all the Christmas treats so I can start afresh. I haven't weighed in for quite a while now - December was a bad month as far as SW and the gym went - I was so under the weather and things were so bad at work that I just ended up going home every night and binge eating. Reading all your posts over the last couple of days has made me realise I'm not alone and that I just need to get myself moving again! So today is a red day and i'm going to stick to it like glue. Tonight I'm going to try and get to the gym and I'm off to fill out my food diary on the website. Well done to all our new members on joining us, I'm sure you'll find it very helpful. And thriftykatie I'm so impressed with your initial weight loss well done! And Suggs, I reckon you'll have shifted that weight very soon, I wish I had your discipline. It's funny, normally I'm really down about losing weight but this tiome it's not so bad - I know that I can do it and it isn't going to hurt that much!0

My OH loves meat I think he'd be in heaven doing something like the atkins diet but it's hardly moneysaving, or healthy for that matter. I've told him we're eating less meat and buying more beans and pulses to bulk out meals (which I've never eaten in my life so a few trips to the OS board are in order I think)newlywed wrote:A joint goal time would be good.I never seem to lose more than about a lb or two a week really and some weeks not even that.

Maybe 4lb. Then that's a lb a week-ish?
Eventually I want to lose two inches of my waist, at least four off my bum and at least two of each thigh. So I also would like to try to be a quarter of the way there by the end of jan. This gives me a bit more scope for putting more weight on through exercising more which always worries me.
But I'm starting bad already though. I am so hungry at the moment. I have home made turkey soup for lunch but I don't think I can hold out that long!
