Click on your Start Menu and click run.
Type cmd.exe and press enter.
In the black box that appears on your screen type ipconfig /all
Copy and paste the results onto a forum post and I'll have a look at that.0 -
That looks normal.
There could be a problem with the DNS on your router but I would be suprised. Login to your router at http://192.168.1.1 again.
On the Basic Settings page you should be able to see Domain Name Server (DNS) Address. Is the option for Get Dynamically From ISP selected?0 -

Hi crystal9
I'm not sure I am understanding what you mean when you say "pc rom"
Do you mean a CD Rom (Compact Disc) ?
If it is an original CD from a software vendor, it is very rare for originals to have a virus.
BUT
If it is a copy that someone has burned onto a CD recordable disc, then during the process of burning this copy their PC could have had a virus which was burned onto the CD recordable disc.
Now that you have found the disc is infected you should destroy it so that you do not forget and use it on any other PCs
(And inform any of your friends who may also have used that disc or any other copies made, they will need to check for a virus on their PCs)
sorry coming in between you always comping and coxy
hi
its strange but we have tested the pc rom (cd rom) again today and it all seems fine so dosn't look like it is that now it is an official disc i believe as i got it from the job centre for my hubby, not sure why it came back again yesterday thanks for your reply thohave now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving0 -
Did you say your son was looking for images at some point? For Halloween?
If he was the machine probably picked something up while he was searching. A lot of the image searches (such as Google, Yahoo and so on) pick up images that are hosted on sites full of malware and once you visit them you start seeing problems.0 -

If your a Virgin Media cable customer then your DNS should read as follows:
Primary - 194.168.4.100
Secondary - 194.168.8.100
Change them in the router settings and then apply/save the changes.0
