If the virus somebody mentioned earlier has changed settings to your router then those changes could still be present. I don't have any information on the virus but you need to check your DNS settings in both Windows and on the router. The problem with doing this is each Internet Service Provider (ISP) has different DNS servers.
What version of Windows are you running? And who is your ISP?0 -
windows xp and virgin media0

I'll have to try and do this from memory; sorry if the steps are a bit wrong. Double click on the network icon in your system tray. It will look like two computer screens and will be by the clock. The screens on the icon will flash blue from time to time.
That should open a window with the connection status in it. If you click properties it should bring up a list of options. You need to look at the one that has something like TCP/IP V4. Highlight it and then click properties or preferences. Normally these settings would be set to DHCP. There will also be a section somewhere for DNS. This should also be set to obtain DNS from DHCP or automacially.
Do any of the above have information in the boxes? They should all be blank and greyed out.0 -
thanks but i havent got the network icon in my system tray, next to the clock0

Have a look at this guide on Virgin's web site:
http://help.virginmedia.com/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=2784&CURRENT_CMD=SEARCH&CONFIGURATION=1002&PARTITION_ID=1&USERTYPE=1&LANGUAGE=en&COUNTY=us&VM_CUSTOMER_TYPE=National
Follow this and you should be able to check your network settings are correct in Windows XP. You then need to check your router settings are correct.0 -

Sorry, but your request could not be processed due to an unexpected error.
Please try again later.
The system administrator can look at the server logs to find the reason for this error
