severe virus please help

anyone have any idea where this came from? my hubby was using a pc rom that someone lent him which was a self testing cd for cscs card and my son (10) was looking for halloween pictures to download and print could it be either of them?

think its all clean now just finishing off superantispyware and done microsoft scan that was clean.

Try downloading Malwarebytes again.

Download the latest version from filehippo.com.

Once downloaded open Malwarebytes and update it.

When updated runn a full scan.

After scanning tick any boxes that show any malware that Malwarebytes has found and let Malwarebytes remove them.

Post the Malwarebytes log file in your next message.

hi have done 2 scans now as stated above and both come back clean :j:D

thank you all for your help. can anyone shed an light where it may have come from?

no seems to be back to normal, but i am worried about this dns thingy how do i know if its been changed? as i been told it can change passwords etc

i Have exactly the same problem as you but havent been lucky enough to get rid of it, despite following the same as you on here, really annoying me now, whenever i click on anything it opens up a completley random tab and i still cant update my malaware despite unistalling old and downloading the latest.

Yep, it closed all my desktops down then ran scan. picked up 1 tracking cookie but problem still persists.

If you are not getting any more redirects/popups then you should be okay.

As far as I'm aware it won't change passwords.
