If customers do not complain then how is the company going to know what it is doing wrong and how it can improve ?
The OP was not after compensation just an apology. The OP is eminently reasonable.
You, OTOH, are being a bit of a !!!!!!."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."
"I could play all day in my Green Cathedral".
"The Centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"A dream? Really, Doctor. You'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next. "0 -
What sort of place was that?
A place where if you are questioned, not accused, about an alleged crime you have to report it to your employer?
A work place where I was trusted to handle other people's money of course! This sort of work environment isn't that uncommon. Mine was stricter than many but there are loads and loads of jobs where something like what happened to the OP could have consequences.
And if the OP was serious then they would have done something about the situation a long, long time ago:cool:
Errrr, if you read the whole of the first post, you will see that she has been trying very hard to do something about it.
luckylucky, if you don't *get* why what happened to the OP has shocked so many people then nothing I or anyone else can say is going to explain it to you.
Or maybe you just like the sound of your own voice.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

I can understand why the OP may have felt aggrieved.
Shame they seem to have not been more proactive in seeking an acceptable solution.
They have not been trying very hard at all to resolve it.
And if a member of the constabulary talks to you about something do you have to tell your employer about that?
The OP was never accused of a crime at any point.0 -

If my name went into a record/description/note of an event of some kind then yes, I had to tell them. No matter if I was a suspect, witness or victim. The penalty for not reporting something was immediate dismissal, and they always seemed to find out sooner or later when stuff like this happened to anyone. If I chatted to a policeman then no, that wasn't something I had to report, but anything more than that was.
I did handle really huge amounts of money every day, which is why this was taken so seriously.
Allowing access to sensitive information about ourselves was written into our employment contracts, so we knew what to expect. And yes, we did see security march people away from their desks more often than we were comfortable with.My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Thanks for the background info.
I think that opens up a whole different can of worms, which I am more than happy to debate.
Getting back to the OP I still think if a particular outcome was wanted then some more vigorous pursuit of same was required.0 -

I think op has tried to get the written apology, store manager wont talk to her and keeps telling head office he has sorted it when he hasnt
Perhaps you could suggest what she should do now0 -

Somewhat late in the day but no harm in going to talk to the store manager, rather than phone calls from the OP.0 -
I think a verbal apology is more personal than a word processed typed apology...a handwritten letter may be more personal?0
