managed to squeeze the ironing in before i head to bed, wrote a list of what needs doing tomorrow and its very scarey as i also have Abis nativity, riding, Meeting about Charlie and have to get the kids ready and fed for carers club at 5 and get to my mums!!
we have a house inspection on thurs and as things had slipped over the past few months im trying to step up a gear and have it looking great when they come around! will also help us to keep on top of it over christmas etc.
hope things get better SS xxWhat's for you won't go past you0 -
RB - so glad all your family health problems are getting sorted for xmas
Sugar - hope you get your noise issue sorted. I've been sniggering at you 'making friends' with the caretaker tho
Thanks for all the sandwich advice. When I asked about low fat hummous I actually meant to say low salt durrr. It's salt that concerns me with ham etc as well. I just checked my (brussels) pate and the salt is highlighted red so think that would be a no go. I just read a suggestion about mixing humous with grated carrot which is very appealing. (one of my fave sarnie fillings)
Also another silly question - what bread do you use? do you get thinly slice for little ones sandwiches? Also would you usually give a salad selection with (cucumber, carrot) sandwich so that they're getting a well balanced meal?Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Hope everyones ok, not been on much as OH came back fri night then went again this morning
T has been so miserable since left, I think he is getting very aware of his daddy only being here a day per week. Roll on friday as OH will hopefully be working at the local office from then until new year *fingers crossed*
He phoned me tonight to say that he has been given a bonus for working away so much so that is good (been as he doesnt get any overtime for working away)
I am trying T in his own room tonight, I am v nervous about it! OH helped me make up the cot but I have put T in his moses basket inside the cot to get him used to the room 1st, hope he sleeps ok!0 -

The thought had crossed my mind that's what you meant.I do homemade hummus and that way I can set aside a special Finn portion with no salt...however, I've also given him store bought with no thoughts on my conscience, lol. Personally I generally avoid lunchmeats due to high salt, but I imagine that 1 wafer thin slice probably doesn't have that much!
If he has a sandwich lunch, I will give a piece of fruit on the side plus sometimes raisins as well. He's not a big raw veggie fan, otherwise I'd prolly include some of those. Just hodge-podge really.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Morning
I've never really bothered about watching salt content. I never add salt to cooking or plates etc., so they were given a low salt diet anyway. A bit of salt in ham, pate, stock cubes in casseroles etc., was probably nothing to worry about as the rest of the food would be salt free.
I gave mine a variety of breads and they managed fine. We went on all inclusive holidays when Josh was 10 month and again when James was 8 months. I used to feed them something, and then give them a crusty end off a baguette to chew on while I ate mine
Off out to work this morning but it's not to bad. All the jobs are in the same shopping centre so I only have to battle the car park once
Going to marzipan my cake this afternoon. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Bow chicka bow wowwww...
I give Miss M homemade bread normally, or if we've bought speciality bread she can nom on the end of it. I also did similar to Becles when we were on an all inclusive holiday, Miss M got the crusty end of a baguette and I was able to eat in peace.
[Edit: I just remembered being on a tram with her in the sling when she was about 8-9 months old, the person sitting next to us had a baguette poking out of her shopping bag and *someone* made a concerted effort to steal the end of the bread ]
Husband left Upstairs Neighbour a printout of the law about noise disturbance last night, this morning it was on our doormat with a note: It was 10:03 and a smiley face. *seethes* we're going to see the landlords later on and since we have the caretaker to back us up hopefully something will get done this time.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Lol - there is so much to think about isn't there?! I think that checking there is no 'added' salt would be fine. I tend to be very fussy and buy really good quality ham for LO. I don't think LOs should have pate until they are a bit older (over 2?) but I'm not sure about that one - think its the same arguement as pg women - perhps someone else can clarify for us? thanks
LO loves sandwiches, cheese, philapelphia, ham and peanut butter are all favourites here. Sometimes we have a picnic lunch where I do her sandwiches, grapes, apple slices, cheese cubes and sultanas and sometimes a few cheesy biscuits or crisps. She loves it! I put down a picnic blanket in the living room and we eat in front of the TV ;):D:rotfl:r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Becles, I'm the same mostly...I don't mind a bit of something salty like Marmite or pate because I pretty much do homemade everything so I know what's in all the stuff he eats. It's all about balance
.
Oo oo, I forgot to say - we have a clapper! :T :The figured out both waving AND clapping this weekend

The main worry about pate is that it can contain listeria (this includes vegetable pates, apparently). Also it is often made from liver, which contains high levels of vitamin A and there's some evidence that too much vitamin A in pregnancy can harm the foetus. Some vitamin A is good but too much is not (and the FSA does not give an RDA for pregnant women and suggests you talk to your doctor or midwife for exact numbers).
Having said that, there's no such rule here. I'm looking at the FSA and the only things on that list that were on my list were certain types of fish (predator fish, because they absorb nasties from the water like all the other fish but since they then eat the other fish they get bonus nasties) and unpasteurised cheese.
