    Brill thanks...

I already know EXACTLY where I want to go:p:D

    Cyprus
    Protaras
    Marlita Beach Hotel

That is the hotel we stayed in when we got married, it will be our 10yr Anniversary 6th September 2012:beer:, so I want to go back to celebrate it there.....hoping for for two weeks incorporating that date into the holiday (near the end)

It's ok I wouldn't have gone into a shop, not until I was ready to book, and only then to see if it is cheaper online or in store:)

Would be absolutely fantastic if you could give me an idea of price:A

    will do!!

*cough* for friends, if its a TC/Airtours holiday i can match the online price....

Our upstairs neighbour is doing something that sounds strangely like chopping firewood in the hallway. Husband has just gone upstairs to ask him to stop; I hope he doesn't actually have an axe.

We're going to have to go and see the landlords tomorrow because this is getting ridiculous. We have some of the most noise-intolerant laws in the world to the point that if there's more than 5 working days of construction within hearing distance I can reduce my rent for the duration of that period and yet my Arschloch of an upstairs neighbour can play opera before 6am with total impunity.

Edit: the building's caretaker happened to be downstairs moving the bins outside so Husband invited him in to listen. I'm just waiting for the muppet neighbour to claim he wasn't home and we're lying when the landlords ask him about it

But if he did that and the caretaker backs you up, that might mean the landlord realises he lied on other occasions also *shrugs* Hopes he stops being such a !!!!!! for you though.

I am completely surrounded by chocolate and am just about to go make Baileys fudge but what I really want to eat is the belly pork that's in the feeezer!

Took DS to see my grandparents today. It cheers them up so much to see him, it's lovely. My grandad had a stent put in this week after a heart attack last month but he's looking really well and it's nice he only had to stay in hospital overnight. My grandma had the all clear from her cancer last week too after a scan showed the last lot had completely gone. They will keep a close eye on her from now on but it's good news. Now I've started I may as well also say that my dad had 2 moles removed a month ago as they were dodgy-looking and 1 (on his forehead) seemed to be growing. It was that one he went to dr about originally as everyone commented all the time that he should get it checked out. Anyway that was just a mole but while at dr he was checked all over and dr found this other one in a fat crease (lol) on his back, turns out that one was cancerous. However, it was very small (3mm) and has been completely removed so should have caught it early enough for it not too be a problem.

Phew. Sorry for the long post :o

RB I'm glad that things health-related seem to be going well for your extended family. And you might be right, the landlords might notice that it is convenient that he's always not here whenever we've heard him.

And oh no, more shouting in the hallway - Husband went up now we're in the official legal quiet hours (although the rental contract says 6pm on Sundays which is legally binding over the law) and the guy is steaming drunk and shouty. This is just beyond silly.

  • RB - so happy that all health issues have been sorted before Christmas. I had a mole removed off my back as a precaution about 10 years ago, it had the potential of being an issue as I got older due to the amount of times I got sunburn on my back as a child.

SS - what RB said :)

ETA - would the police be able to do anything? Or would that just wind him up?

The local police tend to automatically side with the native German in any dispute :/ but the last time I went up he yelled at me, so if he does it again I'm going to call them and make a complaint. The problem the last time was that rather than come in and hear how loud it is they insisted on going to his place first so he was able to turn it right down before they heard it from down here

  • SS do you get on with the caretaker? It sounds like it is worth kindling a friendship with him to have an "official" who supports your side of the story! Our caretaker lives on site, and also has kids - he lives in the same flat as us, but 2 floors down (if that makes sense) and the guy between us is often noisy. The caretaker telling him to be quiet is strangely more effective than us doing it ;)
