One more question Jillie...when you get back from santa express (obviously) If I check out prices of 2011 for the time of year I want to go in 2012, do you think that will give me a good guide?
Or do you have some insider knowledge, that holidays are going to dramatically rise:p
good guide....add about 10% on top. if you find in a brochure what you like, i can price it up for you. Dont go into a shop though as one of the most annoying things is when you spend ages looking for a holiday thinking the customer will book only for them to say...nah we're not looking to go till 2012/13/14 etc!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
In fairness though, I would have got more for Alice if I didn't know she would get loads of things from relatives. Alice has five uncles, grandparents on two sides, great aunties/uncles and a great grandad all giving her presents. Plus a few family friends give her things. We actually asked OH's parents to buy sleeping bags for Alice a few times to reduce the amount of toys she would get.
That makes a big difference I think. We got Izzy two "big" presents last year plus a couple of 99p stocking fillers (I think we spent £20 or so on her max). This year we have spent a little bit more, but she is a bit more interested in things now, so it is easier to think of things to get iyswim. I still need to get her some flash cardy type things for her birthday, then that is all sorted toogot-it-spend-it wrote: »We're up. Just trying to decide what to do today. I quite fancy Winchester Farmers Market but can't be bothered with the crowds. Might just stay home and make home-made yumminess for my hampers. I will need some eggs and other bits though so maybe Asda first thing.
We tried to go to the farmers market but couldn't get near to park. Would have walked in if we didn't need to go to basingstoke afterwards, but as it was we gave up, and now DH is sulking because of lack of sausages :rotfl:.I could use some advice please ladies. We've done the purees route with Thomas along with finger food and he's taken to both really well. He is obsessed with bread or toast tho and if DH or I have bread he refuses to eat his puree until he has bread also. As I have sandwiches every day for lunch I'm thinking it would be good to give him sandwiches too. Any suggestions for what would be suitable to put on them? He can't have dairy because of his eczema. I thought I could spread some purees on them but would like to move onto proper adult food too.
I think you already had suggestions of hummas nd someone said peanut butter. You can get other nut butters from holland and barret/wherever. They are a bit pricey, so might be better to make them yourself. We love cashew nut butter. Is pate dairy free? Izzy loves that. Ummm.... marmite? did anyone say jam? tomato puree maybe?Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

They also liked the jars of meat and fish pastes, but they smell a bit ming.
Those are one of my guilty pleasures
Miss M is now three hours into a nap, and since it's coming up on 8pm I fear for bedtime. But she's not been well so obviously needs it and no doubt Husband will be awake late so we can take shifts with Nocturnal Baby when she wakes up.

SS I thought we were going to have a night like that last night, but actually it wasn't too bad - she was ill enough to need the sleep iyswim. She went to bed at normal bedtime just about then woke when I was about to go to bed. DH said to take her to bed with me and I assumed he would sleep on the sofa, but no he decided to sleep on the bedroom floor instead "incase we needed him". He had been in the pub so then he lay on the floor doing beer snores and was unwakeable - it was a good thing we didn't need him as I had to yell at him for 10 mins before he woke up so I could tell him to stop snoring or go sleep elsewhere
Never mind.

Lily has just fallen asleep on me after i made her cry by bathing her and rubbing steriod cream into her.
Im thinking whatever she had an allergic reaction to has flared her eczema. She's very red and rough skinned0 -

Hello,
I've had a catch up so hugs to everyone.
Busy day yesterday, swimming, shopping, haircuts.
The swimming seems to have had a restorative effect on Katie, all back to normal, tongue still a bit dodgy looking so keeping up the drops for a couple more days. Bought some new tree lights (LED ones) one lot are pink and the other is blue and white. We also collected the mini mountain of sweet bombs for the nieces and nephews, they look fab, so much more in them than a selection box of similar value. Katie and I have had our Christmas haircuts. That's how I knew she was feeling better. She got me to lie on the floor with my knees up then she'd take a running jump and land on top of me!
Today we it was the Church Nativity, she was a fabulous star, I have pictures which I'll upload later. This afternoon we have been making fairy cakes to leave out for the Christmas Tree Fairies.Proud to be dealing with my debts

Our upstairs neighbour is doing something that sounds strangely like chopping firewood in the hallway. Husband has just gone upstairs to ask him to stop; I hope he doesn't actually have an axe.
We're going to have to go and see the landlords tomorrow because this is getting ridiculous. We have some of the most noise-intolerant laws in the world to the point that if there's more than 5 working days of construction within hearing distance I can reduce my rent for the duration of that period and yet my Arschloch of an upstairs neighbour can play opera before 6am with total impunity.
Edit: the building's caretaker happened to be downstairs moving the bins outside so Husband invited him in to listen. I'm just waiting for the muppet neighbour to claim he wasn't home and we're lying when the landlords ask him about itOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Brill thanks...
I already know EXACTLY where I want to go:p:D
Cyprus
Protaras
Marlita Beach Hotel
That is the hotel we stayed in when we got married, it will be our 10yr Anniversary 6th September 2012:beer:, so I want to go back to celebrate it there.....hoping for for two weeks incorporating that date into the holiday (near the end)
It's ok I wouldn't have gone into a shop, not until I was ready to book, and only then to see if it is cheaper online or in store:)
Would be absolutely fantastic if you could give me an idea of price:AUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
