sugarspun my DS1 did not get his first tooth till he was 11 months but ate anything and everything by then, I just made sure things like meat were cut quite small. He mostly followed BLW too.
Right new little one is going to be 4 weeks old on thursday and he still sleeps nearly all the time is this normal? I can't remember how long the others were so sleepy for. He will occassionally stay awake for 10 minutes after a feed but not often.0 -
That was a nice thing to do CAFC.
If I'm doing food mystery shopping visits and I don't want the food, I've given it to homeless people before and they are ever so grateful for it.
Instead of collecting the usual fruit and veg for a harvest festival, our school collects tea, coffee, sugar and hot chocolate powder for a homeless charity. They send vans out in cold weather and make hot drinks for people.
Freezing cold day at work today. I'm chilled to the bone and don't think I've thawed out yet. Almost caught up on last weeks work now!
Katy Perry texted Charlotte earlier to tell her that she'd bumped her knee.
That is a really good idea for the mystery shops Becles. Sometimes fast food ones come up where I wouldn't eat the food so I don't go for them- I've never thought of doing that.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

Smartie - we started weaning T at 6 months. He did start watching us quite a long time before that but didn't show any signs of being hungry (crazy sucking while feeding and then waking through the night A LOT) until then. It was quite important to me to get to the 6 months as I suspected we would have skin issues. (which we have
) but if he'd started the waking earlier then I would have done!
I also got the impression from your post that you were perhaps thinking of weaning soon, mainly because you have used your judgement re Daisy's capabilities and done a lot of other things earlier than "they" advise. (and before you get your back up that isn't a dig or a criticism in any way, I don't believe there is a right or wrong way of doing anything and we all make our own decisions based on our own circumstances)
My little man keeps crying tonight....not like him at all....he normally goes to bed and goes to sleep
ETA I've just had to pick him up and cuddle him and sing to him...that is seriously unheard of since he was about 10 weeks old! Hope we're not in for a bad night...Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -

Miss M was 13 months when her first tooth made an appearance, my baldy-gummed baby was starving for proper food well before that though. She'd get pieces of steak and suck them white - I was a bit cautious in what I was giving her, but after the slow start she was happy enough with whatever she had and equally interested in the grown-ups' variation/alternative.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Anyway 9am i was all bundled up, an walking under the underpass, regular homeless bloke asked me for any spare change and I said no sorry, and he wished me a good day and said thankyou..... So I got my formula, about to make for home, darted into starbucks and bought a large hot chocolate, walked back through underpass and gave it to homeless bloke, who was so thankful, I told him I dont give money, but i wanted to know he'd had a hot drink today, and he was still calling after me when i got to the end of the tunnel saying thankyou and god bless..... so I cried, when I got home, when I sat down to feed L. Just thinking that man is someone's baby....
.
Thats really nice of you, I used to do that with food, there was a homeless guy on the main street in newcastle, he was there every day, and I would get paid on a thursday, and he used to sit there and play the flute and I loved listening to him
Well on a thursday I used to go to him with a hot sarnie (bacon or something) and I would give him £5 as well, I did this for about 3 months, and then he just wasnt there anymore, I was gutted
CAFC E is the same with his bottle, dare to take it off him and you'll pay lol
caz - yeah first day back today it went ok but I missed E like mad
CAFC does L have a sleeping bag at night or a blanket? E has a sleeping bag and we dont have that issue, but when he has his naps during the day and I use the blanket he ends up all over the cot lol (nevermind I just read that he is in a sleeping bag lol)
Smartie - E was 20 weeks I think although I had given him baby rice from about 16 weeks but 20 weeks was when I started properly, Ive given E a bit of bread from the big mac bun lol
Ok I am knackered off work lol been up since 5 puttng the food in teh slow cooker so I am off to bed in a min, night allDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

I didn't read your post properly - its the lack of sleep - I just noticed the no teeth thing, it didn't slow DS down at all and since he was number 2 I probably wasn't as cautious. Have forgotten everything now though.0 -
I didn't actually say Daisy maybe ready/we're considering weaning... I just said she likes to watch with "thats not fair" eyes.
See... no wonder people don't like to post here when people jump to the conclusion that I'm feeding Daisy chocolate/food/taking her to McD'S for burger and chips.
Nowhere in post did I state I was thinking about weaning.
I just like to be super organised and have a date in mind to think about introducing solids.
*wipes trifle from Daisy's mouth*:p
I actually started DS on solids not much older than Daisy but in those days it was normal/ok.... DS is shockingly still alive:eek:
I don't know why people don't like to post here because nobody here ever assumes things.
And today my baby ate a happy meal that my friend bought her for lunch and proclaimed my tea of home made shepherds pie and baby sweetcorn was "uurrrgh... ack..." after picking three bits of mashed potato off the top and spitting the meat out... So don't listen to me, I know nothing...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I have a poorly baby too.
Woke a few times last night with a hacking cough, was all clingy and strokey this morning, still took her to playgroup though as I thought the distraction would be good - it was she was back to normal within 2 minutes of arriving.
But then this afternoon if something went wrong there was meltdown, I think she's getting thrush in her mouth as she says her tongue hurts. I have Daktarin from the last bout. She then sat on DH's knee saying no she didn't want to go to bed, then when I looked 1 minute later she was out for the count, this was at 7pm unheard of in months.
I'll see how she is in the morning before deciding whether to let her go to toddlers with my mum.
Hugs to everyone.Proud to be dealing with my debts

MDW, do you ever give her probiotics? We were always told to recommend them if a mother had to have antibiotics etc to help avoid thrush...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
