Salesshopper - I went back to work when Katie was 9 months old - I expressed during my morning break which Katie then had the next day. I stopped this at 14 months as I got feed of being disturbed/walked in on whilst expressing - despite there being a sign on the door - where I worked the doors weren't lockable.

I'm also sick of stupid tv shows discussion the BF white paper thing and just ignoring what it actually says as always and turning it into sensationalise rubbish:mad:0 -
What's the white paper Sami?
This is an effing nightmare, having only one room. Miss M can't nap with us in here, Husband is sick and getting more and more annoyed with her because she refuses to lie down and keeps bouncing back up like a jack in the box.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Sami - that was at my employer before the one I've just left, I've had a bad run on jobs - my treatment during my return was one of my reasons for leaving that and having to reapply for my job and them dropping my wage by 2K.Proud to be dealing with my debts

Its only about what is already recommended (and has been for years!) I remember discussing it during my meetings about Mat leave when PG with Christopher.
The point (as I see it) is mostly that employers should allow mothers to have BF/pumping breaks in the case of the shared mat/pat leave thingy that was proposed.
So essentially where the mother is the higher earner it makes more sense for her to return to work after say 3mths and the daddy have 6-9mths pat leave where they pop along to see mummy at work for her to BF the baby. Which I think would be a fabulous thing for the family situation.
ETA - obv I can also see that this would be difficult for lots of companies too and I'm not saying I agree (or disagree) with it but I just hate how 'we' are unable to have a sensible discussion of the suggestion.
I feel for you stuck in a hotel, it was blimming annoying when we were in Edinburgh and we weren't trapped like you. It's great because it's really warm and it stops snow going down my neck (and it's pretty). A lovely friend sent it to me.I'm glad it has a grateful home.
