Afternoon all. I'm loving the snow piccies, but sorry you are stuck SS (and everyone who is stuck at home!). It is freezing in here today. We have a little electric heater, which probably costs a bomb to run, but I think I will have to put it on in a bit, just to get the temperature up a bit for when Izzy gets home. I won't bother now, as I'm going to get off the sofa shortly, and get some more cleaning/tidying done.
This morning DH built a new bookcase (just a mini one to sit in the corner, for Izzys books and a few toys, then we are goin to move the rest of her toys into her room, and get her into a proper putting-toys-away-at-bedtime habit), and cleaned the living room carpet, while I blitzed the bathroom (I properly took EVERYTHING out of the room that isn't attached to the wall, and cleaned everything except the ceiling and the mirrors, which I forgot about until lunchtime - going to do them in a mo :rotfl:). We also tidied up our [strike]bike[/strike] junk shed downstairs, and moved a load of stuff over to the garage, so that we could move the pile of thigs that have been cluttering up the hallway for months waiting to be put away down there. Getting there slowly but surely. Next I'm going to start doing something about our bedroom. A flame thrower would be a good start, but I'm going with the slower, but less drastic approach.salesshopper wrote: »Still bf but going back to work in Jan (sob sob sob - no option have 2 go back) so will be giving her formula soon would like some advice/ other peoples experience on what brand/stage to give. On the odd occasion i've been away from her she has had ready to drink aptamil stage 1 - my god its expensive.
I read your later post, so not sure if this is relevant to you if you are looking to stop anyway, but Izzy was just under 8 months when I went back to work, and it worked fine for us for her to keep having mummy milk morning and evening, and also during the day on the days that I'm about, and having formula at nursery? I was a bit "full" to start with, but your body soon gets used to it. She was having aptamil stage 1 powder (I think I only ever bought 1 tin though, as she only had a little bit each day - wouldn't take a bottle, and was drinking it from a cup everso slowly!). Once that ran out she was big enough to have cows milk.
I'm sort of trying to stop the daytime feeds now, but my heart isn't really in it. Every time we come home from the in laws DH starts talking about stopping feeding her in the day, and I know where that is coming from , and I kind of agree that it could do with stopping, not for any "being too old for it" reasons, but just because I know sometimes she doesn't eat enough food because of having filled up on milk, and i worry that she isn't getting everything she needs iyswim. I try and offer her a snack instead, but if she is tired then that just isn't good enough! I also offer her milk-in-a-cup, just to break the association with the BF a bit, [strike]and also it means I can carry on with the washing up[/strike] but that still has the same problem of not being food.
I had an ok weekend... still full of poorly stuff BUT I did go out until.... MIDNIGHT!!!!:eek::eek: on Sat night to my school reunion which was.... interesting!!
Interesting? How so? We need details :rotfl:.
Anyway, must go clean my mirrors and tidy my bedroom. Talk to you all later!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Ladybird, could you tell him that the WHO reccomend feeding until they are 2?
I thought Caitlyn was going to self wean a few weeks ago, a couple of days she didn't even ask for milk... Then all of a sudden she's spending the morning clamped to me... I realised yesterday that my milk has turned back into colostrum lol...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I don't know why this didn't even occur to me to suggest, durrrr. Obviously you have to do what's best for both of you, but it's good to know you do have other options besides stopping if you want to try that first. Also - I totally feel you about going back to work, I really didn't want to either...it's been 2 weeks now and is still hard.

I'm off out tonight, but so CBA to go. Trip to local theatre with my mum and auntie, but it's so cold and the ruddy car will be frozen over by the time I get out of there. Also have annoying cough that I am going to end up killing myself to keep under control, so as not to annoy too many people. Woe is me.....0
