I am not thinking about potty training yet at all  there is a potty in the bathroom and he sits on it before his bath, but he much prefers to wear it as a hat and hasnt managed a wee in it yet! But he likes to sit on the CM's one and fart loudly, then shouts "Aahhhhhhh" with a sigh of relief :rotfl::rotfl:

I keep forgetting to read here these days :(

  • Izzy does really well on the potty at nursery with the other kids around to set her a good example. At home she isn't as good at remembering - I have to ask her all the time if she needs to go. Today there was too much going on at the in-laws, and we had to put her in a nappy because she had so many accidents we were on the last set of clothes. But she did have a poo on the toilet. By my judgement rather than hers - I got the feeling it was coming, but still, she got lots of praise for it, and it will come with time :)

I haven't updated much on Charlotte as she's going through a really naughty phase.

She started talking in a stupid voice, especially when she doesn't get her own way, and has started having tantrums with loud fake crying and laying face down on the floor or furniture.

It's not like her, so I spoke to her teacher and asked if she was like that at school. The teacher said the girl she plays with most behaves like that and tactfully said the other girl is very forceful and demanding and likes to get her own way. Then when I dropped Charlotte off the other day, the little girl was upset because she didn't want to change from wellies into her school shoes and was having a tantrum and her mother never really checked her and just pandered to her.

She's been really naughty over the weekend and got sent to her room yesterday afternoon and when I went up to check, she'd put herself to bed and was fast asleep! I'm wondering if her bed time needs to be earlier as I mentioned it to my Mam and sometimes she asks to go to bed on a morning at their house. She currently goes to bed between 7.30-8pm and is up around 7am. Going to try moving bedtime forward this week and see what happens.

She got up this morning, came down and went crackers because the boys were watching TV with a blanket over them and she wanted the blanket. I told her that she can't get up and demand things that other people are using and she went crackers about that.

She messed about at the table both at breakfast and lunchtime, and both meals ended up "accidentally" being knocked off the table.

At tea time, she was helping me prep veg and make Yorkshire pudding batter for tea as was being really nice. While I was washing up afterwards, Craig asked her to pick her toys up in the sitting room. She had a tantrum about that, so he told her off and she stood right in front of him and deliberately wet herself

Then this evening she had a tantrum when she was in the shower because Josh came in and gave me a sweet and she thought I should give it to her. Then another tantrum because she didn't want to go to bed, and she refused to give anyone a kiss goodnight.

She's been pretty good up until the last few weeks, so I've really got no idea what has got into her, but hope she snaps out of it pretty soon!
Here I go again on my own....

Im well envious of these non nappy wearing 3yo's! Keira has been fine out of nappies since 2 and a half but she still hasn't learned not to pee during the night. Ive even been taking her to toilet during the night but she still manages to pee

    Thanks Caz :D

Becles - that sounds like a bit of a nightmare for you. It must be so frustating when you know how out of character it is for her. It's scary how much their friends can influence behaviour.

  • Beccles sounds a nightmare. It is only a phase I'm sure. I thought we had it bad here, but the worst is yet to come ;)

Izzy has been very cute sometimes recently too - she has mastered the art of proper kisses. Although she does sometimes decide to stop kissing and start licking, which is a little off putting ;)

  • We get kisses here too, but sometimes I think Henry thinks the wider he opens his mouth, the better the kiss. It is cute though.

I hope Charlotte goes back to normal soon, Becles. It sounds like a nightmare for you.

Morning! Sleepyhead went until 6:20 this morning, still late for him and then throwing our schedule way off :p. He was so exhausted yesterday for some reason, he fell asleep on DH twice! Very odd for him, must still be remnants of this cold we've all been trying to shake for over a week.

I love reading all the baby posts! We need more of them. :D :T

Hmm, for us the latest trick has been pulling himself up on his knees. I know this is several months behind most other babies, but at least it's progress! :p Still not proper crawling (he does a caterpillar/commando-style), but I'm thinking he probably never will as he doesn't seem to care. No cruising or standing or anything like that either, but honestly I don't mind. :) He knows how to wave now and can do high-five on command. I'm still trying to do baby signing, but I keep forgetting so now I'll try harder as I really want him to be able to use it to communicate. Oh, his favourite thing at the moment is to climb on top of and over all his toys - very King of the Mountain. :D
