No posts for 4 and a half hours

I've been watching Ice Age 3 whilst trying to take everything out of Lilys mouth. I have cleared this room countless times yet she still finds things to have in her mouth

I plan our budget on an annual basis taking into account the seasonality of income and unpredictability of the winter months so it's not going to cause us any problems.

Very sensible of you, I wish my mum and dad had that sense as we were growing up, we were always skint and living off mash and beans for dinner, candles because the electric kept getting cut off, and the car was usually sold each winter, plus all clothes xmas gifts were from either catalogues or charity shops!!!

My dad used to work on electricity pylons, so was seasonal work (mostly) some years he did get sent abroad to work...... I suppose it didn't help that he was an alcoholic and had a secret daughter he used to pay for!!!
Mel, I forgot to say last night - the fairies flew yesterday.

  • Evening all. Back from swimming/the in laws. We always come back with more stuff that we go with. Partly because DH went shopping (with MIL) and bought mostly things we don't need of course ;) He did buy some bargainous toys to go into party bags though - a pack 4 little water pistols reduced 10p. Might put them aside for next year though - I think they are probably a bit fiddly for 2 year olds, but still a good buy :)

Gosh, quiet today! And no one else even has the excuse of it being substitute Thanksgiving today :).

Amazon USA are still doing loads of super sales for anyone interested. *hint hint* I got some great Christmas pressies for my family today, but I think their shipping to the UK is even fairly reasonable. They don't seem to get snapped up as quickly as the UK site did, so might be worth a look? (obviously keeping in mind that electronics are a no-go except for laptops ;))

Is it just me or do we need get many baby/child updates on here anymore? I don't feel like I know where any of the littlies are up to or how they are doing. I think it's all got a bit lost in recent 'things we don't talk about'.

Anyways I'll start as it's been a big week for us here. After looking ready for some time Thomas finally sat unsupported on Monday and has got better and better at it all week. He's not very good at sitting still tho so soon tries to move and over balances! He's loving being able to look at the world from a different perspective tho and Rhyme Time was fab on Friday because he could sit facing me and watch me doing all the actions :)

Then yesterday after a month of rocking on all fours it finally clicked into place and he crawled across the rug. It was lovely coz DH and I were both here to see it. He's been crawling back and forward across the rug all day today as well so think I need my wits about me now!

I'm finding this (7 months) such a lovely age. He loves to initiate games of peepo where he picks up a sleepsuit/blanket and pulls it over his face and then off again, getting super excited when I shout Peepo :)

We visited a 3 week old babba on Friday, I was fully expecting to get really broody but instead (even tho he was gorgous) I just felt relieved that T isnt like that anymore. I think DH was relieved lol.

    Who's next? :p
