Aw thanks skint, maybe it'll get better, just feel a bit like we're going backwards as he has been out and about since 3 days old and been perfect, and now its all going wrong. I was encouraged to get him used to being out and now I dont wana leave the house with him again :( OH went a bit mad when I told him this on the phone but i dont think he understands as he is always away :(

Kitkat, I have found that parenting can be summed up with a few phrases:

    It's a phase

    This too shall pass

one step forward, two steps back, or vice versa

Basically, things change, go with it, do whatever you need to in order to not go crazy mad with it all, and believe that it WILL all be OK.

I have always found that L HATES the dark, with a passion. We have to be in by dark or it's hell, and she now also hates the cold, so doesn't want to go out at all. This sucks.

When she was younger I also would do whatever it took to keep her happy. Because then I was also happy. So stay in if you want! Babies and small children can totally cope with being in all the time, especially if it's what they prefer, just do indoor stuff.

Being with Mummy and in a safe place is what they crave, so there is nothing wrong in meeting that need. Your OH may not get it right now, but he will. By meeting your child's need, whatever that might be and especially if it flies in the face of society's view, you are being the ABSOLUTE BEST MUMMY. End of.

I know it's hard, but remember, this too shall pass. In a few months it will all be different. I promise. I've been there.

    Hugs xxxxx

I plan our budget on an annual basis taking into account the seasonality of income and unpredictability of the winter months so it's not going to cause us any problems.

  • Morning all. Rubbish night here. Had a funny wake up here though. Normally Izzy gets up and wanders towards our room yelling at me. She dooesn't normally venture into our room because it is a bit dark. This morning she just got up and stood quitly outside our door. We have laminate flooring which she walks on qite loudly, so she had woken me up, but I was too tiered to get out of bed and because she was waiting quietly i wanted to see how long she would wait. After about 10 mins she had a coughing fit, and I couldnt get away with pretending to be asleep any more, and I found her curled up on the floor - she told me she was having a nap. Silly girl.

Susan - that makes sense why you plan so carefuly now!

  • Morning. Sorry you had a bad night, Ladybird. Henry was up at 1 but then slept till gone 7 so I feel like I've had a good sleep. I am totally stuffed up with cold though so I plan to go out as little as possible today as it's mega cold here (but no snow).

  • We're off swimming at aquadrome this morning then going to see the in-laws. DH is working at 4, so will be able to come home again in time to do a few more bits from my spring cleaning list later :) I've got a few of the biggest jobs done so the list isn't very "crossed out" yet. I'm hoping I can spend half an hour whizzing through the quick jobs tonight and make it look like I've achived a bit more ;) DH is off tomorrow, so going to get another big task out of the way in the morning then go get some lunch somewhere :)

  • Have fun at the Aquadrome. We love it there.

I think I'm going to spend my day upping my various online points and exploring all Henry's birthday toys with him.

Morning all. Thought I might get a lie in as T went down late last night, but she actually got up earlier than usual, typical! Anyhoo we are up and have had breakie and OH is, as usual, snoring his head of in bed.

Scruffy - ma-hoosive butt kicking cancer fighting vibes for you x

Gill - thanks for that link to the L&G activity table yesterday. Showed it to OH and he said we should get it as we had xmas money for T from my rents, so we reserved one of the few we could find and got that along with a handheld camcorder and as that took it over the £100 mark we got a £10 GV so only really cost us £5 :D

Right list making time... OH is off this week and I want us to actually do some stuff around the house as well as getting out with T. I figured make a list of stuff and then what day we are gonna do it and then if we have a plan we may do more than just hang about the house till mid afternoon each day.

Today is the last day DH has to work a 10 hour shift :D
His work changed his hours so they spread out.

Eww, Lily has pooed and the smell is making me sick. Must go and change her :(

Edit, she didn't poo. So dont know what the smell was.
