It's very similar in shape to the chair that goes with the smart stages swing... We just put ours away because Caitlyn's really not fussed on it so I thought we could just fetch it out with the swing when the baby comes...
My Mum is getting her her own poang for christmas
Although both girls have been horrors this evening, nothing but cheek and evil looks from Aimee... Although we did laugh at her when she got her dress stuck on the rocking horse and was having a real paddy whack about it...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Best friend - "He is awake during the day because he is hungry and if I was you I would change to bottles and give him a dummy".
Best friend? really??
Step Mum - "Give him a bottle at night to make him sleep through".
yeah right.... don't work like that! and 2 months? no even our angellic sleeper didn't sleep through (which is in fact 12:00 - 5am) until much later!
Several strangers - My goodness you are STILL breast feeding.
there is a polite reply to them and my reply which I can not repeat here!!
Friends send me upstairs to feed as they don't want me to get my "baps" out in front of them. Happy for me to change smelly nappy in front of them though?
again friends? really?
Step Dad - Gets all embarrassed when I feed and my mum was a bit weird to begin with to.
tough titty! he'll just have to cope
There really is only one sentance you need for all situations.."This is MY baby, I'll be doing things MY way, when I want YOUR help I will ASK" trust me its easier than trying to explain why you do what! you should see the looks and hear the comments I get with my baby boy wearing a necklace (a,mber for teething) and being carried in a wrap!good luck!

My baby is now two months old and I am breast feeding on demand, he is growing well and is happy and contented. I also feed very discretely.
I have so far had the following:
Best friend - "He is awake during the day because he is hungry and if I was you I would change to bottles and give him a dummy".
Step Mum - "Give him a bottle at night to make him sleep through".
Several strangers - My goodness you are STILL breast feeding.

I haven't even attempted to feed in public, I honestly cant say if breast feeding women bothered me before I had my son, I really don't think so.
Anyone else found this?
Tell them all to sugar off. You're doing a brilliant thing, and as for feeding under a shawl, when babe gets to a certain age, the shawl will get pushed off so babe can see out!
People seem to think they can bring their own personal issues with breastfeeding and dump them on you publicly when you feed, well I would say to them that you're sorry they have such issues but that its not up to you to fix them, and as for friends who forget you so you don't get fed, these friends need trading in.
In my social circle, the breastfeeding mum gets pampered and looked after because she usually ends up eating one-handed anyway.
Bravo, well done, keep going as long as you are happy to:T:T:TPlease do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

I BF both of my DD until they were 2.5 years and never really had any problems, or I did not notice
Actually thats a myth, current books/ charts are based on breast fed babys with the peaks and troughs smoothed out.
but all babies are different, you don't HAVE to see the health visitor it aint compulsory, I've seen ours 3 times now in 9 months... and ignored them every timeDedicated wife and mother... and now financial controller lolIts a long road, but I will make it there in the end0 -

First Congrulations on the birth of your son. Second Huge Hugs.
You are doing a fabulous job. When unsolicited advice is offered smile and nod whilst letting it wash over you.
I was fortunate in that I never had any negative comments when feeding DD in public. The only person who wasn't comfortable was my older brother, so we came up with some ground rules, my house he had to find somewhere else to go, he would just ask if it was ok to come in - I think he couldn't handle his baby sister being a grown up.
Regarding the public breastfeeding, to gain my confidence I went somewhere where I wouldn't be judged, I attended a local breastfeeding support group and fed her there a few times before doing any real public feeding. I have fed my DD in all kinds of places, the best on is in a pew at Church on a Sunday morning.
I would second doing at least one feed in front of a mirror it honestly does look like baby is having a cuddle.
Enjoy your special cuddles. My favourites were the ones in the middle of the night when it was just the 2 of us whilst the rest of the world slept - so I definitely didn't want her sleeping through the night
My DD is 3.5 now and has a bf every morning.Proud to be dealing with my debts

I breast fed both of mine for the first six months. I made sure I wore a top that could be lifted up rather than unbuttoned. Most of the time feeding in public went unnoticed except when No2 son who regularly slurped.
:rotfl:
For me breastfeeding was a time I spent close and intimate with my baby. Something I look back on now as a very special and cherished time.

oh sweety - this thread has just pushed one of my buttons!!!
I had three children and breastfed all of them with varying degrees of success!
first child, my daughter, I wasnt too confident and listened to the pro-bottle brigade with the result that I gave up after six weeks (but I would say to anyone else who fed for six weeks - well done!!!! you have just given your baby its best start in life).
second child, first son, I fed him for nearly three years! he gave it up when i was pregnant although he was only feeding for comfort by then (I called my boobs 'Hs' dummies). and boy did i get some stick! one nurse actually called me un-natural, luckily for me this doctor heard her and tore strips off her - telling her that in HIS culture I would be considered a good mother but it was nothing unusual! and that most british mothers were rather looked down on by women where he came from as we dont breastfeed as a matter of course and that we dont feed for long enough!
third child, second son I fed for six months but got dangerously underwieght and felt so ill all the time I gave in bottle fed - unfortunately my son cannot tolerate cows milk and became asthmatic and hyperactive.
All this was over 27 years ago and its clear from your post (and others) that attitudes havent changed much in that time!
All I can say is - YOU are doing the right thing by your baby. dont let other ignorant people put you off.
my top tips
learn to feed the baby under a shawl - I can guarantee that once you get the hang of it NO-ONE will even notice you.
In your own home, if visitors are squeamish or disaproving announce you are about to feed the baby and you STAY put - its up to them to stay or leave!
in other peoples homes - use the shawl trick - when baby starts crying, announce he likes being cuddled with the shawl around both of you then once he is positioned just adjust your clothing underneath the shawl and let him latch on. wont hurt if just for once he doesnt get both sides! you do need a fairly large shawl for this though. or drape a smaller one over one shoulder and then you work by feel.
honestly! considering some of the revealing clothing worn these days and the topless pics everywhere I cannot see where people are coming from - being shocked at the sight of a baby being breastfed as nature intended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much for posting :T0 -

I find the shawl thingy is even more important at this stage than before....keeps my boy focused on the task at hand and less distracted by the moving world around (or his fave the TV, lol)Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
I was breastfeeding in Asda's cafe today and a lady came up to me, gave me a hug and said how lovely it was to see (and I wasn't flashing she'd been watching me with the baby and saw me latch him on)0
