Drink lots of water Sir M and if you can manage some porridge it'll help keep your supply up. Hope you both feel better xxx

Maz - I have a Braun thermoscan ear thermometer, its the same as a lot of doctors/hospitals use (in fact the MW used mine when I was in labour with Ed because the batteries died in hers!) It was about £35 but I use it loads because I always have cold hands the boys always feel hot to me! I think its this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Braun-4520-Thermoscan-Thermometer-66022780/dp/B0001D0LMS
I don't change the cover for every use tho, there really isn't any need if you've got clean ears ;)

Thanks Sami.. seen this one which looks a lower model on Ebay for £25

    Anyone got a Calpol one?
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

Maz that one is a little bit more on amazon but if you have a swagbucks/bingo/kenoir voucher still to use would be better? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Braun-Thermoscan-IRT-3020-Thermometer/dp/B001Q3LWKW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1287491238&sr=1-1

SirM - I had the tummy bug last week, its grim isn't it!
Try to eat what you can, dry toast/biscuits and keep hydrated and you'll be fine :) If littlie is happy to take a bottle it would be nice if Daddy could give one in the night so Mummy can get her rest tho ;)

Thank you everyone who shared their routines too. Susan, that's a good point. I like to do fun chores with Molly around - yesterday she helped me make the Christmas cake, we have a nut chopper jar where you press the lid and the nuts get chopped and she chopped everything (Husband was weeping like a girl, that particular implement was the first thing he used to help in the kitchen too :) ) but I normally do the dull stuff when she's not looking.
The only job I've specifically never done when Alice is around is ironing because I'm scared of a nasty accident. My mum gave her a toy iron though and she seems to know what it is for and how to use it - we are mystified as to how she knows.

If im not in a rush I let Keira chop up veg for dinner, like peppers, mushrooms etc, soft stuff she can do with a butter knife, though I'd not win anything for presentation when she's been helping.

She will also load the washing machine (I hand her the stuff, she stuffs it in) likes to fill it with powder, will put stuff in the dryer.

I [STRIKE]force [/STRIKE]allow her to do the dishes :D Mostly plastic plates, but she likes doing the cutlery too, she won't touch anything saucy though, shame that as that's the stuff I hate the most :rotfl:

Wont do her bedroom tho.....ultimate nightmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare.

Afternoon all, seems like a lot of us have had a stressful night. T and I are both ill, we both have colds and T has had diarrhea for a couple of days and I have acquired an upset tummy this morning, just puked up my brekkie I had at 8 - can't keep anything in my tummy. I am bfing at the mo, should i continue as worried may dry up or I may get dehydrated, any advice welcome thanks!
If you're struggling with liquids, take small and frequent sips.

If you pinch the skin on the back of your hand supposedly it stays up if you are dehydrated.

She sounds very similar to Alice. I have to watch Alice with "washing up" because she'll mix all the clean and dity things up in the scabby old water.
