Oh Tara, sorry, I didn't know your kids had had it
I suppose it's because Idris and co workers, had a few days off work cause they all had "swine flu" apparently but he was just dossing round house playing ps3 as usual. Probably not a good example to use, but it's all I had, plus no-one in Aberdeen really got it or had it?

Good news though
Last night I almost bought panto tickets, as Keira hasn;t been to see one yet, obv idris wanted to go too. Was gonna cost me £60, I take her to nursery today and they managed to get the whole school reduced tickets and they have a trip lined up for start of January, the cost will be £8 including the transport.
Looking for mummy helpers
Saved myself £52 :rotfl:0 -
it was me asking about the baskets? migh have a look around and see what i can find i need around 5 so the cheaper the better!
My secret takeaway book came today along with 2 other copies for my mil and step dads new wife! putting them into their hampers if i ever find any
i have got nearly all the kids apart from clothes and stocking fillers but am really stuck with M??? any ideas age 10 into everything, loves music, texting, writing, reading and driving me up the wall
Digital camera? They've got a lot of cheapy offers on at the moment everywhere
I'm shopping for OH still, need to sort my mum out but not much else left to do I don't think
CAFC You've been unlucky I think. I had an experience when I was young with a health visitor and I felt like she was wishy washy and patronising all at once!
The one here when she wanted to come visit I thought 'here we go again' but she's amazing!
You'd never expect a middle aged lady in a cardie to come round and tell you that she only gives advice based on scientific research, none of that wishy washy nonsense :rotfl:
And she didn't give me any stick for not BF.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Has anyone seen nice baskets for xmas hampers? im also looking for good deals on wrapping paper!jillie1974 wrote: »thats how i feel. its something you have to have done as the illnesses we are vaccinating against are so serious
i never realised you dont get BCG anymore unless you are from a particular country or area where you live (found out when i was pg)
I wasn't vacc'ed against whooping cough and the only person I know of in my life time to have had it is the lovely Alice - who has made a full recovery I think.
I'm not against vac's, the boys have had them all inc swine flu but I fully understand why people don't have them, I'd rather everyone was as informed as Susan and CAFC and not vac'ed than everyone blindly having them IYSWIM
I've been a busy bee this morning, done a big shop, scrubbed the recycle bin (I wouldn't need to if 'someone' would remember to rinse their empties before putting them in there ), done some clothes washing, sorted through tthe Christmas shopping I'd not put on my spreadsheet and after a break for lunch I'm off to do more.
oh and just to even up the balance, I love my HV team 90% of them are fantastic and lovely:D0 -

Ben was completely incoherant for about 5 days.Really made me realise how fragile your kids can become.
Great news about tickets, I love Panto. X
And no I don't think it's the HV's primary function, but then it seems from my experience in school that it's when lots of people notice it gets passed up the line. I would put a HV as one of those people. When something in school was noticed it took talking to all people involved in the last few years for action to be taken.Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
I've not seen my HV since Charlotte was about 9 months old. She was concerned as Charlotte wasn't sitting up or moving and was happy just laying flat on her back. She said she would be in touch shortly and refer us to a consultant if she still wasn't sitting up. I'm still waiting for her to get back to me about that
I saw a different HV who did a check when she was about 2½ though but she was the nice one who has 4 children of her own, so she just skimmed through everything and checked I was happy. She said she knew I knew what I was doing with her so it seemed a bit pointless lecturing me on stuff.
Charlotte has had all the vaccinations apart from swine flu. The hype was well over by the time we got the letter asking her to go, so there didn't seem much point in putting her through it.
I knew they didn't do BCG anymore as the boys haven't had it. Josh said the girls get a cervical cancer one in school now. Here I go again on my own....0 -

BM - Fantastic news about the panto. A and I love the panto. We're going with my mum to a local amateur performance this year, which reminds me, I also need to look into tickets for the Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe as A desperately wants to go - I think that's going to really cost me

Bexta - could be a growth spurt, could be the end of his cold, could be because he's started sleeping in his cot through the day when before he was sleeping on me mostly. Whatever it is, I'm very sleepy!
Oh, and my little monster has been taking my glasses off for a few weeks now - Idon't think I've been able to see clearly out of my glasses since for all the handprints (and the occasional footprint!)
HVs - mine are OK actually, they asked for D to be weighed weekly for a while because he wasn't putting on a great deal of weight and dropped a few centiles (maybe because of his reflux, he may just be a bit skinny! we don't know). They've been pretty supportive of me weaning D a bit early (though that's not going very well!)
D has learnt some angry growling noises this week and he's using them now so best go tend to him!0 -
sami what shopping bags are they?? most of the items are M&S as i have been buying their offers and putting them away along with all the alcohol from the meal deals lol!!!
