We never had to sign anything when we withdrew consent for the MMR and when I phoned the central place up recently to say we hadn't decided whether Alice was going to have the scheduled booster they'd sent an appointment for they were fine about it. They put it on a two month delay and said if we decided not all we had to do was ring up again.

Did Alice have any injections at all?

The only one i was happy for L to have was vit K post birth.....
I think they just find it odd that we decline............

Reckon I'll answer if they call again but am not going out of my way, and I'll jus continue with L as is.....
He's currently watching Nanny 911... i do hope he's learning! :rotfl:

can i be cheeky and ask why you're not having the injections?

    you can be cheeky...

although I do worry its a topic of conversation that may stir up some heated discussions LOL

So this is purely personal decision and I think the decision to vaccinate or not should be purely personal, but I think more information for both sides of the argument should be presented to help parents make an informed decision, and I dont think we are given that in this country....

But then like anything that goes against the NHS guidelines is never presented actively and without bias....

I dont agree with the content/ingredients of vaccines.....and these not being made widely known....

Theres a good book which gives a lot of information....

Crikey I really hope this has come across alright :o

I understand your reasons CAFC, and whilst I personally don't side with them, it's each to their own :D

I just think that if it wasn't for those vaccs, there would be a lot more sick and dying children, and it's only because most people get their children vaccinated, that it prevents it being so widespread. I am mostly under the impression that unless your child has a compromised immune system or the likes, you should get it done, because the children that medically can't, will be more at risk.

I also understand Susans reasons, because it's religious beliefs, and whilst I'm not religious, it's each to their own with that aswell :D

You not worried about baby catching some nastys?
I couldn't give you figures for all of them but I worked out that the chances of Alice catching the diseases of the booster she was meant to have were less than the chances of being struck by lightning. Lightning has a higher mortality rate too.

I'm not against vaccinations worldwide, and do believe there is a need for them in certain areas of the world, due to other influences in terms of healthcare, sanitation etc....but again I believe there are ways of immunising that dont include ingredients such as you mentionned.....

BM, as a Mummy who had kids with Swine Flu, it was very real and very very scary.:( I too was flippant before but not now!

And at the risk of being the baddy, :o we would all be commenting if we saw on the news that a HV did no visits to a family and something awful happened to the LO. I too don't see mine hardly at all and like it that way but do understand that they have to check in from time to time. And I'm not saying that anyone here would ever do anything bad. :A Just seeing it from a HV point of view. X
Too many children, too little time!!!

Originally she was going to have them all. Then I found out that they use cells derived from aborted babies to make some of the viral ones and the strain of rubella used was obtained from an abortion so we cancelled the MMR. It's possible to get single vaccines of Measles and Mumps which haven't used cells from aborted babies privately so she had a single measles vaccine but I think we messed up the system by not having the rubella so we never got the Mumps one. More recently I have done more reading up about vaccines and considering mortality rates from various diseases over the last century have concluded that the role of vaccines in reducing these diseases is questionable and that the risk of the diseases is fairly low.

I tried to find out what would be in the booster Alice would be due but I couldn't exactly because they put some mixture in it which could be different depending on which manufacturer they got it from.

I don't think it is the health visitor's job to check up on people for that reason though. Obviously if they noticed things on visits they would have a duty to report it but that isn't their primary function.
