Afternoon all - we had a rather horrible afternoon out today. Took Miss M out in the pushchair (our loaner, still, Easyjet) for lunch and it was all very nice. She did escape off up the stairs of the big kids' slide in the indoor playground at one point and I went up after her but it was so high and the stairs so steep I was  about climbing down with her so we went down the slide - it was incredibly steep and fast :rotfl:

then we had some bits of stuff to do, and I was coming out of a shop pushing her and it had a tricky step so I was a bit slow. The man behind called me an idiot, to which I responded with a dirty look. He then followed me down the road shouting at me :o and only stopped when I called him an Arschloch and said a very, very rude thing. But I was almost in tears I was so embarrassed and intimidated, and it was worse because Wee Beastie was with me.

We stopped in a local auction house just to look, they had a sale on of handmade rugs. We moved down to the front and one of their staff looked me up and down and then stood in front of us and blocked our way, telling me pushchairs weren't allowed in the front. Fine, except that there were FOUR already down there, all belonging to better-dressed ladies. I snapped at him and told him that I wasn't bidding on anything if I couldn't see it, and since I was looking for a handmade rug I'd come here for one and my budget was higher than the selling price of the lot his interference had prevented me from bidding on (€16000  for a rug :eek:) and I wanted to make a complaint. But I am all sad and deflated from being shouted at by two men in one day.

SS, what a bunch of !!!!!!! Hope you feel better soon.

It's horrible when people judge solely on how you're dressed. It sounds like Miss M is coming along fantastically now she's learned how to run about. She'll definately be keeping you on your toes, cos they really don't seem to feel fear about certain things do they?

Oh SS, sorry you had such a rubbish day. Silly men.

I came back to edit in a full stop at the end because I missed it and it was bothering me. We're not doing so well on the pants thing. We've got through about 5 pairs in the last hour. The last few times she has started to say she needs to go and sit on the potty though, so that is good.

Oh, and I forgot to say - we have proper talking in sleep. She was yelling "no" loudly when she was napping earlier - I was sneaking a nap too, and she woke me up - I ran in thinking something was wrong, but she was still dead to the world. I take it that means she is also having dreams :)

I need tips on ribbon...... of all things LOL
I've got some wrapping paper from last yr's sales, its silver and grey with photographic NY snow pics..... I thought of some proper ribbon as now ive got it out the pack its a bit foil cheapy like, but I didnt want to use that metalic plasticky stuff (god I hope someone understands that)...... but I cant seem to find much anywhere....... anyone seen anywhere with some nice ribbon type in a grey/silver, o recommend a different colour which could work?

;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)
  • CFAC have you tried a fabric shop? You would have to buy it by the meter, so it might work out a bit pricey, but you could get a few meters just for a few special presents maybe?

How rude. What amazes me is that these people don't have better things to invest their time and effort into.
