Mel try Freecycle or the police auctions?
Edit: and you're very welcome, I have this voucher and would like someone to get the good out of it.
How would I find police auctions? we do have an auction house that opened not long ago a quite local, so I suppose I could try there. I've never been to an auction though.
I also need to find out what size bike they need?Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

I have worked since I left Law School in 1999
He is 65 - seems a bit young to be forgetting stuff?
is is just this, or has there been other things he's forgotten? has your mum mentioned anything?
if it was just this it might just be confusion as to what you are doing at the moment (not sure myself)
65--isnt too young, it can happen in people a lot younger'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
I've a £10 Red Letter Day voucher you can have, I'm not going to use it
Gardening stuff wise, the ladies on the SO board say Wilkinsons have all their gardening stuff half price. And there's a Grabbit for 100 free bulbs.
Tia, that tutu is adorable. I made a far less elaborate one for my niece's birthday and they were over the moon.
MFD Jack in the Boxes frighten me and always have. Those creepy little people are locked in the box for a reason.
Thanks, I'll check out Red Letter Day and see what they've got. Some of them look good but the circuits are just a bit too far away, and the one that is on the doorstep, Oulton Park, is very expensive.
Sugar (and anyone else who wishes to take it on!) I have a Christmas present challenge for you. My Mum celebrates her birthday on 15th Dec so I need a bday and xmas present for her. She likes smellies so I can normally get a set for one or other, doesnt wear much makeup, likes gardening and birds but has loads of tools etc, likes reading but buys herself cheap books on amazon, reads once and passes on. Needs to try clothes on before she buys and is really picky about what fabic she likes on scalves. Dad always buys her perfume. Used to like nicknacks but got too many and doesn't want any more. She's in her mid fifties and took early retirement. Likes musicals (used to buy her theatre tickets but they're crazy expensive now) likes neil diamond and john denver but has all their cds and dvds unless anything brand new has come out, doesnt watch tv. Can you take it on? lolMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Gill - we have that first one, we got it from ebay the seller said it was hardly used as LO was too old for it and gott it as a gift, is really good nick and T loves it. Anyhoo if your not looking for something so electrical, Wilkinsons had these.
oooh thanks Som, I'll check that one out when I go to the mall too. I do like the look of the noisy one but every toy he's getting is noisy and battery powered and I just feel it's important that he learns that some things move without batteries and the reasons behind it (as he gets older!) plus it leaves nothing to the imagination. He's frightened by loud noises too. He doesn't like his spinning speedway coz it's so loudHe loves the cars on their own tho and he likes it if we put a soft ball on the speedway which isn't as loud.

Gill, have you seen this? Mel doesn't want my £10 voucher so you're welcome to it
MFD, could your dad just be confused with the end of your contract and so on? My dad was once certain my degree was in a completely different discipline because we'd had a conversation about it one day. He has all his marbles, he's just not familiar with how stuff works IYSWIM.
oooh that one;s Wigan - I'll look into it now thanksMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -

I was about to say that Ferrari experience is Wigan
What about some unusual bulbs/seeds? There's a Grabbit for 100 bulbs at the moment, but at this time of year there are loads of bulbs and stuff available all over the place. I did also just see two apple trees on the Guardian for £35 if you think she'd like those.
If she likes reading, would she appreciate a magazine subscription? Would she like clothing gift vouchers and a promise of a day out to spend them including a nice lunch with you and such like? Or theatre vouchers? I gave my grandmother some of those and they went down well. Would she like a calendar with photos of the family on it?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
Sugar - pretty sure we're going to go ahead with that one but need to speak to BIL 1st - could you pretty please keep your voucher in reserve for me.
I don't think my Mum would appreciate a mag subscrition but a calendar is a good idea and poss vouchers thanksMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
I love magazine subscriptions... It's like the gift that keeps on givingA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
