Feeling rubbish today. And don't know if it's me being paranoid or what. Basically I took a couple of days off this week cos I've felt poorly and desperately needed a break after working well above full time hours last week. Today work has brought in somebody else to assist with the phone call volume and i'm feeling a bit pushed out. I'm self employed so they can let me go any time they choose. I'm aware that as a business they need to cover business needs and if i'm honest, the stress levels at work lately have gotten to me. They have been incredibly supportive and my instinct is to suggest that they have done it to relieve some of the pressure from me. But there is that little niggly feeling that i'm being replaced. I've got a constant headache and the worry of being out of work just before Christmas (not to mention with baby on the way) is really upsetting me.
Gah. I don't expect any advice. I know i've got to talk to them. I just don't want to do it a blubbering mess

TNV I would be tempted to buy a suit, but have a few other nice things to take with you. As to when you should leave, I would play it by ear. I tend to find if we are already at somewhere at bed time we can get away with staying longer because she is interested in what is going on iyswim. But she has always been happy to nap in the buggy if I go push her round the block to send her off in the first place. I always take her pjs if we will be somewhere late, because she will sleep in the car then when we get home I can just give her a bit more milk if required and bung her in bed.

Charlie - I've had a similar convo with someone else about this recently, but are you ACTUALLY self employed, or have they just told you they are. (checklist here) I may be barking up the wrong tree, but it might be you can get some advice if they are behaving naughtily!

I'm self employed hun. I have no contract. It's a verbal contract really whereby i'm contracted to work 9-5 every day (I usually do more) and a few hours a day at the weekend. But they could say they don't want me in tomorrow and that would be that.
Don't get me wrong, I love the job. I work from home and have the flexibility to run round after the kids etc. I just wish I wasn't so bloody useless in this pregnancy. Mind you, I never attempted to work whilst pregnant with the other two so this is totally new to me. I've never been so shattered in my life!

Fair enough, I just wondered because a lot of companies try to say someone is self employed for their own reasons rather than because legally they are - it is the terms of the contract that mean that you are self employed rather than because the employer decides they want you to be iyswim. You have my sympathy, I have no idea how I would run around after Izzy whilst being pregnant. I will have to manage it one day if I want another baby, but it is a scary thought. ~hugs~

Well done Jillie :j That must feel great! In H&M they had babygros which were coloured like tuxedos with a bowtie under the neck for about £8-10, saw them the other day and thought they'd be perfect for a wedding
Asda had some very cute mock tux outfits this week.

Well done Jillie, that's a great acheivement.
3 Muttleys - your son was born on the same day as my 2nd daughter. How are you getting on? Does he sit happily on his own at all? Yesterday I was all woe is me about my cling bot, but today have accepted (partly thanks to the people on here) that it'll not be forever and soon she will sit happily for a while. For now my slings are my best friend!0 -
