ok honeypop, (sorry, more thoughts from me!) purely based on what you've said about your first labour, it seems that being on your back (Lithotomy positions reduces open pelvis width by 30%) and with a v difficult presentation (back to back increases likelihood of assisted delivery by I think 60ish% but I'd need to look that up again) may have been implicated in pushing being too hard. Also I'd say the length of tme of your first stage may also be an issue. (women who are more exhausted push less effectively) also epidural meds make it harder for you to 'feel' where to channel your energy as all is numb IYSWIM?
All in all, the factors involved seem to me (and only a layperson opinion obv!) to be circumstantial, rather than ones which feel likely to recur, altho they could. For example, if you had been upright, and bubs was a 12lb and you yourself were big at birth, I'd more be thinking, yep, it may be similarly hard (but not imposs!) next time. What I'm saying is that i like your midwife can see hopeful things in what you've said about having a stab at a VBAC.
Please ignore if this wasn't the sorta thoughts/opinions you were hoping for, and all the best for you in whatever you decide

I'm trying to figure out what on earth to exchange my Clubcard vouchers for. I have around £30 at the moment, so it's not enough to pay for things in full. I was thinking maybe something holiday-related, but the issue there is they are only good against full brochure prices and MOST companies have deals that are better than the discount my vouchers would provide IYSWIM. We're going to be skint next year so definitely trying to stay in the UK or something equally affordable. Gar, I am so indecisive! Also, every time I try and check my account like everyone else has done, it just says they are experience technical errors? For 3 days now? Anyone else have this issue?
honeypop - don't feel bad! It's actually really important to talk through your experience and deal with it however you need. Have you thought about seeing a counsellor or similar? I'm sure there's something you can do, but other ladies that have gone down that path might remember better than me.

Honeypop, it doesn't matter a flying fleck what others have went through, only what you went through and how you feel about it afterwards.
I would urge you to go over your previous birth before deciding on what you want to do this time. Speak to your midwife now and get her to arrange it. It will be emotional for you but usually it does help to come to terms with it and move on.
What do you want to do? Try another vaginal birth (induction or hopefully spontanious) or just skip it all and go straight to elective? I missed the prevo=ious pages and just kinda jumped in without reading back... sorry.
As for breastfeeding, no idea why they said wait. I had skin to skin with DS1 after he was resusitated and stabilised, I was sleepy so DH held him on me (I was on my back, he was on my chest) he rooted and had his first feed. With Amber I fed her in recovery (elective C section) and had no problems at all. I did have to get someone to pass her to me till my catheter came out 12 hours later, but it was not a problem. I only mention it because although it is a seperate issue, it all gets muddled up in your head and you will want things to be different this time. It's possible to breastfeed and have skin to skin even if you need to 'recover', if it's what you want. You don't have to hold baby, they can be placed ontop of you and yoru partner can help keep them secure.0 -
I am considering a VBAC being pregnant with no2, and my midwife has said there are no inductions following a previous CS.
Hi Honeypop, I'm sure you've had lots of good advice from the lovely ladies here. Just to say I had to make the same decision you are making now a couple of years back (wow is it really that long?)
I had an Emergency Section with Millie and I decided to have an elective section with El. If you have any questions I can help with please ask. (by pm or on FB I don't come on here much now)
I found this website very helpful http://www.vbac.org.uk/.
ETA Honeypop, I had a similar experience with BF the first time, they left us both to recover and by the time I woke up they had already given Millie some formula! I was able to successfully BF Eloise and the no stress birth we had really helped with that.
Hope everyone else is good,

It sounds from what you say that labour/birthing position was a big factor then which is hopefully something you can have influence over. Have you considered a home birth? (Not saying you should but personally one of the factors in me wanting a home birth next time is that in hospital I was forced against my clearly stated wishes to give birth in the lithotomy position.)With the first one, I was induced at 41+5. Had waters broken, then nothing happened so put on drip (had 5 sweeps prior to all this). After about 2 hrs I had an epidural, so wasn't able to have the active birth I had planned and prepped for and I was gutted, so yes I was in the position you mention. 16 hours later I was 10cm and they realised he had turned back to back while I had been laying there in labour. I pushed for just over an hour, prepped for surgery but tried forceps first which failed. Don't think there was fetal distress, more that he was 'stuck' from what I can gather.
You don't have to make a certain number of posts here to qualify or anything. And sometimes it can be helpful to talk to people who aren't as emotinally close to the situation.Excuse my pouring everything out on here, people have much worse problems (and are more regulars). I suddenly realise I haven't talked this through enough with anyone - except OH who wants whatever is best for me and baby - and I think I need more help.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Okay: Pick a day next week (Mon-Thurs) and I will take Alice swimming and meet up with you. (And anyone else who happens to be in Darlington.) I don't think I've been swimming since before I was pregnant and Alice keeps askng to go.No, unfortunately we cant afford it...which is sad.... but maybe this will spur the north eastern people to come and be my friend for a day..... :rotfl:Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Is anyone able to advise me on ballet clothing sizes?
Having signed A up for ballet, she has to wear the proper gear - my parents have offered to get the clothes as a chrissy present for A, but I don't know what size to get her. Although she's 5, she's tall - 120cm, so she normally wears age 6-7, but she is skinny. I have to choose from;
ballet shoes (USA Sizes) 8-6, she's a UK 12, so I thought a 2 - from googling I think they're meant to be a size bigger than normal?
Leotard 00/0/1/2 - not a clue
socks 6-8, 9-12, 12-3, 4-7, I think 12-3?
cardigan 22"-32" - no idea
skirt 18", 20", 22" - not sure - 20"?
