Maz- I forgot to see how scary that must have been!
I adore books but I am more of a book abuser. Books are to be enjoyed in my mind - read them in the bath, I write in them - I enjoy them
- DH is the opposite and can't even abide creased spines - we NEVER share books :rotfl:
hammy what do you write in them?
I have cried on a few occasions when the boys have chewed or ripped a bookI'm always telling Chris about children in the 3rd world who dream of having half as many books as him but I think it'll continue to go in one ear and out the other for a few more years before he understands

WRITING IN BOOKS?:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I'm on the side of the holiness of books:rotfl: I adore them and love the smell and feel of them. I've 'confiscated' any that aren't robust from Annabel's bookcase. She can only use those ones under supervision as it upsets me so much when they get damaged:o:D:rotfl:so they are for storytime only - but the usborne 'not my' series and similar can put up with lots so she has access to those all the time.
r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
R.mac, has she tried clockwise tummy rubbing when LO's upset and whingy? I used to do it on Molly and then if I had a tummy ache did it on myself and it seemed to work.
Also, what's the LO eating? Eggs and cheese are super easy to shovel into a small one, but they can have a bit of a stoppering effect.
R.mac, there was a woman who used my old local library who would (incorrectly) correct the grammar in books. I pitched a fit and she was eventually tracked down (I borrowed a non-scribbled book, returned it and then wanted it again so reserved it - but the second time I had it it was written in so we knew who it was). She was banned AND RIGHTLY SO.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

3 - V is so cute! A likes to put her head on the floor with her bottom in the air and say 'annabel upside down' but she only ever does a forward roll by accident :rotfl: I'm almost glad we don't live closer as I think A and V could run rings around us if they got together
And can you imagine the arguments and fall outs over Benjamin :rotfl:

 ss LO is only on milk - not weaned yet. Although sis is thinking about it. She's tried pretty much everything. baths, rubbing, cycling, rocking, extra fluid (cooled boiled water/prune juice etc) and nothing helps. I reckon he also has a touch of colic (not as bad as Kitkat's LO, but he's very unsettled and cries a lot in the evening andd goes rigid) but it's the lack of regular toilet habits that concerns her most. Lctulose seems to make him very sleepy? which she's not keen on, though not sure why IYKWIM
glad you caught the book vandal. I refused to write in my Higher English books and kept all my notes seperate, the teacher thought I was mad, but I got the top mark in the class so I can't have been at that much of a disadvantage.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Glad Amber is getting better
I hate to see bent corners in books too!

Hello:)
Hugs for the sleep deprived and poorlies:A
Daisy enjoyed "music makers" yesterday. She sat on my lap watching everyone:D We're probably going to another group on Monday.
She's just so full of smiles all the time!!
Ummmm *cough cough* lots of condoms reduced at a nearby Boots. I haven't had my 6\8 week check yet so haven't got long term contraception sorted yet... but could I bring myself to buy some super reduced condoms??? No:o:o:o:rotfl:It wasn't just the embarrasment that stopped me... it was all the different types (ribbed, super performance, variety packs!! etc etc:eek:) that confused me!!:rotfl:BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
 You know what I really hate? When one person organises an event and another changes it. A mummy friend of mine sent out an email this morning inviting local mummies and babies to an indoor play area. And then another mummy (I like her a little less, I confess) announced that she wanted to go to the park instead so maybe everyone could meet there? Some of the babies are very small so outside in November's not a great idea, and Miss M still has a cough so I don't want her out in the cold either.:mad::mad:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

ss - that is sooo annoying. It's fair enough to make a suggestion if you are involved in the planning, but once the decision is made and the invite distributed, then if she wants to do something different she needs to organise it herself for a diiferent date, I'm with you on your ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0

Excellent news about Amber. :j3 - V is so cute! :rotfl::rotfl:
She has done accidental ones before, but these were deliberate forward rolls with a 'tadaaa' at the end. :rotfl:
But poor V, L has been throwing her around practising gymnastics for months now! L is keen for her to go with her to gymnastics in the future, so they can be a pair and L will get to be a flinger. Because she's young and small at gym, she's always picked to be one who's flung!
I've done a little on-line christmas shopping so my list is finally getting smaller. Dad, Nan and OH are my main problems now.
And my books direct order has just arrived. The Peter Rabbit collection is very cute!:beer:0 -
Smartie I just actually Lol'd at that - so reminds me of me!! My darling husband always jokes at the doctors that he's going to go and ask the reception for some 'johnnys' because there is a sign after all indicating that he can, wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the family doctors I've used for the past 15 years, where they know me and my family by first name! I once bought some in Sainsbury's and I had Guy with me, I felt like a schoolgirl :rotfl:
Redstar he's been throwing up milk for months, only nobody has listened before and has always told me it's normal...I really can't see that throwing up milk for up to 6 hours after you had it is normal though. I'm not too worried as he's in good health and he's developing really well, just a little worried that he's maybe not getting enough nutrition as he is pretty thin...he's 18lbs but really tall. ETA: He's been prescribed Gaviscon, anyone know how long it ought to take to start working?
SS how annoying, I have a friend who does that with grown up invites, pee's me off every time.Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0
