Lily has green very runny poo, and is going between 3-5/6 times a day. She usually only goes once a day and its not green.

I just googled it and it says it could be a sign of an allergy, it might not be but i am very paranoid.

But the husband wont let me call the doctors

He would rather the HV saw her tomorrow when we get her weighed. Am i right in thinking i should call the doctors?
how long has she had the green poops?
I wouldn't bother taking her to either the GP or HV unless it had been going on for about a week or she was pale/lethargic/in pain

its more than likely a tummy bug that will clear in a few days.

  • Eeep!

I hate being on the pill personally as it makes me gain/retain weight ridiculously! But, tried the coil before and my body rejected it. (That was a great experience! /sarcasm)

Dont like it much myself tbh, too chicken to get a coil fitted and dont like the idea of injection as my mum balloned after using it so that scares me a bit. Ill just wait and see :)

i would definatly go and get it checked out, i havent had anything in around 6/7 years and tried all sorts of tablets and sprays. the only thing that worked was to be sick???

Ill see how I get on and mention it at 3 month check if needs be. I have had it once before but not quite as painful, but it was a couple of years ago, I remember OH having to carry me upstairs.

How does she seem in herself? Id go with your gut instinct, perhaps NHS Direct just to ease your mind?

    just what sami said ^^^^

If she seems ok in herself it might just be taking a little more time to clear through her system than it would an adults...

I'd maybe give her more water, and steer clear of giving anything new, and stick to her plain-ish foods she has....

KitKat...Have you tried a sling, with baby facing outwards...that way the pressure is against his tum. I sometimes only flick back quickly so can't remember what you have tried so far?

I could probably write a llist of suggestions, but you have likely tried them all so /i will wait to hear what you have tried akready...I can also tell you what I did/do!!!

    Morning all,

Red I have tried a sling but the prob is he goes so rigid and keeps archig his back, plus he is a long baby so I struggle to get him in it when its colic o' clock. I try rocking at various speeds, walking around carrying him, up and down stairs, rubbing his belly, cycling with his legs, patting and rubbing his back, humming, singing, try his swing, try his vibrating bouncy chair, i cant even think what else but I am sure theres more!!

Hammy: Sorry to head poor David is ill *hugs*

I totally know how you feel. First I had problems with bf-ing, then colic, then that went but we had reflux problems and he was being sick till he was about 14 months old. Then come the tantrums and terrible 2's. Some days the thought of having another baby makes me feel quite ill. I've had days when i've shouted at my hubby-that there is NO way i can go through this again! But then i have far more good days, which make me think yes i can do it! When Elliot was 6 months old, i sat down and realised i'd coped for 6 months! I then realised i can cope, i just need to remain calm and get through it.

I had a terrible day yesterday, Elliot was in a foul mood. I rang up my sister who came over to my moms with me. None of us could cheer him up, ive had a look and it does look like two more teeth are coming through-i thought he'd got all his teeth! He's had horrible nappies too yuk! I was totally suprised when he let me get him ready for bed last night, clean his teeth etc and he happily got into bed and went to sleep! no hassle after the crying we'd had all day! I sat down relieved.

It's play group today, so hopefully that will keep him happy for a couple of hours. And tea and toast for mommy :)

Thanks Keely :) its nice to hear from someone else who made it through all this!! I told OH on the phone last night I do not want any more kids and I think he reckons I will change my mind. I suppose I have survived just over 9 weeks... and 7 weeks of colic :(

Thanks everyone else for your lovely comments :) I will be glad when OH is home and he can take T off me for a bit.

Thankfully he slept right through until 7.30am and was full of smiles when he woke (how could I be mad at that face?!) and I had some brilliant news; I am getting the £500 surestart grant paid in to my bank on 5th November :) well pleased, I did have 'nice' plans for it but it turns out we haven't got much heating oil so that will cover that, but I am still very pleased!

Anyway, off to my mums. xxx

I dont really like NHS direct, i was waiting for ages for a call back from them before when i fell over in late pregnancy and was having back pains. (It wasn't labour pains it turns out, but i did have Lily the next day :D)
  • Thanks 3, maybe Ill go then. Always end up waiting in there forever though Bah! We'll see :)

Sorry EA didnt realise you didnt like them. Personally I wouldnt bother with the GP if she seems fine in herself, I have a rather ralaxed personality though. Hope she feels better very soon though xx

I hate lending books out as I don't know what sort of condition i'd get them back in! I think I have a problem :(.

This is me, and the getting upset a damaged books. I once dropped a lovely hardback and at the time was using one of them clip over metal bookmarks and it ripped the page :( promptly slung it in the bin!

the kids have so many books its ridiculous, megan even has here own bookcase for all the many books inc the books she writes :D

I got T loads of books before she was born and another load for Xmas and some for her birthday too! I want her to love them like me, her dad doesnt read except for newspapers as he finds it hard as he has dislexia, but he loves that I want to encourage her.
I'm just going to get an E-Reader. Solves all my problems and there will be less books around the house.

And, I'm pretending in my head that it's all MSE as they do free ebooks so I can read for free. Don't know if that will swing it for my DH though.

Id love an e reader or kindle, then I could get loads more books and not worry about storage, but at the same time there is something so very nice about an actual book.

Lots of hugs and get well vibes for all those feeling unwell, and extra big ones for Amber and little Lily x

Am still a bit fed up atm tho my brothers mental posts on my latest facebook status have given me a giggle (I do worry about his state of mind sometimes!). The washer dryer went belly up last night and between that and the toilet that has now been broken for 2 weeks am wondering whats next! Everything seems to be going wrong atm and that and sleep deprevation is taking its toll.
