JM - karvol is just olbas oil, I just buy whatever is cheapest on the shelf, its all the same!
Sudafed used to be the cheapest plug in but findin it was like gold dust last winter  I ended up getting a calpol plug in which was slightly easier to get but for some reason a lot of the supermarkets didn't stock them ??

r.mac my asda doesnt reduce much from the baby event, its a big asda so half of it is stuff they usually stock and what they don't, there is usually not much left of. I doubt there anything worth wile for you as nappies is probably the only thing useful to a toddler :)

I think this is very rude. I do give my kids junk, BUT if I have friends over I make sure I only offer snacks/drinks that they are happy with. Given that they are my friends I tend to take notice of what they have said, and am therfore aware who allows what:p
Thank you for saying that. I would say something to them but I don't feel I can without it sounding like I am criticising/judging what they do. I think they find it a bit incomprehensible and maybe assume that when she gets to a certain age it will suddenly change so they need to ask ust in case. (But fortunately there are lots of good things about them which make up for the odd annoyances.)

For those with older toddlers..... any advice on LO hitting! I know its just a phase but its been going on for sooooo long now have tried taking her away from the situation, holding her hands saying no hitting it hurts, naughty step and time out which all havnt worked and I'm getting really bothered by it! I have now been taking her upstairs and shutting her in her bedroom for 2 minutes while she kicks and screams but nothing else seems to bother her?? Any tips would be gratfully received:o
I don't know whether she's old enough for reasoning but perhaps talking to her about it at some other time about how it feels for the other person and how she would feel if someone did it to her woudl help? Or I wonder if there might be a suitable story book which could illustrate it and help her to see it from the toher side and see that it is not a good thing to do?

    :hello:

Advice time :D How do we convince Andrew what "food" is? He'll happily eat most things from a spoon (although he still has preemie-style gagging & vomiting issues with lumps, so we're stuck on EKst2 pouches). He'll happily put a toy, a dodie, his feet into his mouth. But he won't pick up any food with his own fingers, and he's really disinterested in me holding food to his mouth for him to suck or bite. It's as if food only comes from spoons now. Can we skip straight to the point where he holds & loads the spoon himself? ;) Suggestions please!

DS2 had those issues, turned out to be mainly sensory. Food creeped him out. OT worked on it and I just fed him till he started to deal with non gooey food (cooked pasta, toast, scrambled egg, wotsits).

Ofcourse most of it meant he was sat in his highchair playing with wotsits or scrambled egg before he was fed by me. I'm not saying that's the right way to do it, it's just what I did.

    I'm J M-B if you wanna add me :)

Back from my driving lesson, Caitlyn was an angel child for my friend, after her little crying sessions at the surestart creche I was worried she would be a nightmare but she didn't even notice me leave... And I nearly ran someone over... But he was a total moron... He deserved it...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Can I have some finger food/BLW advice please? Can I give T mature chedder or will that be too strong? He's already had swedish cheese and edam but I don't buy ordinary chedder. Any other cheeses that your little ones have tried and liked? If I steam up some carrot battons how long can I keep them in the fridge for? Also can I freeze them and what's the best way to defrost them? Also any shared experiences with first finger foods (for a paranoid mummy!) would be welcome :)

PP - no expereince, so may be talking drivel here :D Could you give her a warning. ie. she hits, you say in a stern voice 'No - if you do that again it'll be .....consequence...' so its her choice IYKWIM? then following through shows her she made the wrong choice? I'm not sure at what age they can deal with choices. or can you identify why she oes it? is it mostly she's not able to share, or shes angry or upset/frustrated. If so could you tell her 'hitting is wrong, but I know you feel sad/angry/difficult to share, but we express this by doing.....insert the behaviour she can do instead such as telling mummy she needs help/playing with a seperate toy...' Again, not sure if thats a bit advanced for her age!

I really should remember this myself ;)

You can try her on matiure chedder, Amber loved it. Not sure about those yucky mouldy cheeses since I think they are yuck and wouldn't buy them anyway.

I found steamed veg went to gooey after day 3 but they can be kept for longer.

You can freeze them and just bring out a few for the next day, use within 24 hours if defrosting (again the goo factor). Or you can microwave them in a little water but I kept on leaving them too long and they went like marshmallows.

    Advice, just go for it.
