Myself and my husband claimed for this a while back both over the phone, all was well. I've only been wearing uniform for a couple of years so my tax code was adjusted. My husband has since received a letter asking for more details and we heard there was a template on the forum, does anyone know where it is?
Thanks in advanceYou have to start to finish.

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned yet, but my wife brought the fact that there is a Facebook page on this subject too...
She liked it and asked me to sort it out for her but when I went to the page I noticed that they direct you to another site (that I'm not allowed to post yet as I'm a new user).
As is so often the way, this appears to be a company that claimes the rebate on your behalf and then passes it on to you after they deduct their fees!
And the fee... £10 per cheque plus 20% of the refund (I think)...
Just a warning that this may not be worthwhile for everyone...

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could please help me? I sent in the form for Woolworths employment (part time during uni for 5 plus years until the bitter end!) and did actually receive a tax code change when I didn't expect it!
While this is obviously a good thing (i assumed a rejection), I'm worried about it affecting my current situation and I would love some advice, as I cannot get ahold of HMRC on the phone at all today.
For this current tax year (I'm working full time), my tax code has been an agreed 465L, as I have been paying a £542 tax underpayment through my tax code since April 2011 and so far paid back for 9/12 months (approx £47 a month in extra tax). However, with the uniform rebate, my tax code has been changed between now and April 2012 to 476L. How will this affect the rest of my repayments? I just didn't want to miss out on the rebate, but on the other hand I'm now worried this has caused complications that will somehow cost me in the long run.
Ayn advice is greatly appreciated, thanks xMake £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -

Hi .
My boyfriend works as an Electrician,he has worked there for the past 6 years but I think he only started to wear a company uniform for the past couple of years.
His t-shirts have the logo but the trousers dont.
Do you think he could still claim for not wearing company logo uniform & if for the trousers ? We have always washed & dried what hes worn since hes been there.
How much would it be for an Electrician?
Thank you.0 -

No complications. The restriction in your Coding will continue to collect the underpayment as envisaged by HMRC. But - at the same time - you've been given extra relief of £120. Presumably for the laundry allowance. That will give you back £120 @ 20% = £24 in tax.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

Hi Mikeyorks.
Are you able to help me please.
Thank you.0 -
Hi
I have applied for this and received a letter saying i am entitled to the flat rate :j , but i'm a bit confused
I received 2 letters one is a letter saying i am entitled to the flat rate, and that an adjustment has been made to my 10/11 calculation in respect of my flat rate expenses claim. It then says for the years up to 09/10 this is shown as "earlier years adjustment" for 10/11 this is shown under the description flate rate expenses. It then says for the current year 11/12 you will shortly receive an amended code. For further information please contact us.
The second letter was a coding notice for 2011/12 saying my code has gone up £60 to 753L.
So my question is does this new code take account of the last 6 years or is it just for this year?
Thanks0 -

Yes you should be able to claim. It will be the flat rate of £60 tax relief - which will be added to the personal allowance. Translates (£60 @ 20% = ) to £12 less tax per annum. But more if you claim earlier years and they add it all to this years coding. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
