Can anyone help me my query on post 751?
I would check the list & if the allowance for NHS is different I would advise the tax office accordingly.

    Hi

My husband works in retail as a Bathroom Salesman and he has to wear a blazer/jacket and trousers with the company logo on, he also wears a plain shirt without the logo. There are no facilities for his work clothes to be washed at work, they are washed at home.

I've looked through the list of trades that you linked to but can't see any relating to retail, so how much could he possibly get as a refund?

    Thanks a lot.

Me again - yes, I am on the list so I shall check with my local tax office whether I am still getting this allowance on my tax code.

    Thanks for your help

My husband changed jobs only a month ago so wont be due any money back but can we send in the letter so that it will apply from now on?

Sure, just state that in your letter.

If your husband wore a uniform in a previous job in the last 5 years and didn't claim, you could also claim for that back pay.
