Might be a silly question, my girlfriend works as a zoo keeper, what if any best describes her job role?
I would guess Agriculture, but should she put this or play it safe and say its not on the list?
Is the letter posted at the begining still current?
Cheers
OH works in medical production (printing & packing diabetic testing strips) so has a similar issue but part of his Job involves printing so this may be his best bet.Truth always poses doubts & questions. I work for a group of veterinary companies and all the staff in the practices have uniforms supplied by each practice but when looking at the HMRC list of jobs covered under this vets are not highlighted. The uniforms the Vets and Nurses are not for out of work use and get covered in as you would expect horriable stuff.
Does anybody have any information if the HMRC allows veterinary staff to claim for this tax relief?
thanks0 -
Anyone can claim, the list isn't exhaustive. As long as the clothing is dedicated for use at work (and not that you just choose to wear them at work).
It'll be the standard amount (upto £60 allowance per year) if your profession isn't listed.0 -
Can the army claim this? Im in the TA and I have to launder my uniform and I have to wear it?0

If you're a member of a trade union, contact them. When I worked for UNISON as an organiser, we had forms that we just handed out to members0

I sent my letter off a few months ago and it was all sorted in about 5 weeks.
My tax code was adjusted so I pay about £350 less tax between now and next April to cover the last 6 years.
Then it'll be the standard £60.
The hwole process took about 5 minutes and cost the price of a stamp so well worth doing.0 -
Can anyone help me my query on post 751?0
