Hi guys just come across this, I work in the NHS in pharmacy and wear a uniform. I have wrote the letter as shown at the start of this thread. Will it automatically be backdated? Also I believe you can claim for professional fees I have to pay for to the general pharmaceutical council, How would I go about claiming these does anyone know? Lastly does anyone know of any other tax rebates for NHS staff
Many thanks0 -

if you read the guide you will know the answer

you can claim if the body is shown here on the infamous "list 3", note names run in a very strict order, go look your body up

Thank you!
Forgive me if this has already been explained but
A) Do I approach the university (my uniform has their logo on it) or my trust? As far as I know, I don't pay any tax so would this still be applicable to me?
C) I'm going on maternity leave soon as will not be working at the hospital. I take it I can't claim or maybe I can backdate from the time I was on placement previously?New single Mum & student Nurse working for our future.

everything else is therefore irrelevant as you have to have paid enough tax in the employment to which the uniform relates for you to reclaim, so even if you have a work elsewhere and pay tax in that job it still would not allow you to claim for the nurse uniform
the HMRC page is therefore a bit disingenuous since it was probably written in the days of different funding arrangements0 -
sorry I was not paying attention - if you are on an NHS bursary then you will be below the tax threshold and so , as you say, will not be paying tax. therefore you cannot reclaim tax for laundering since you haven't paid any from which the refund would be made

Thought as much. Thank you so very much for your help!New single Mum & student Nurse working for our future.

hello
been seeing this all over fb about claiming and decided to look into it for me and other half. I work on the railway for the last 6 years (started as platform staff now a driver in depot/engineering) was looking at hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/eim32712.htm and see it says railways (£100) but then public transport driver (£60) im now confused as to how much i should be claiming? My job is basically driving the trains around the depot for the fitters to fix and arranging service for drivers. My uniform is completly different to that of a train driver? any ideas? just claim the £100 and hope?0 -
hi,
think limit for you is £60 as railway uniform cleaning tokens from employer are taken into accountThe world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -

Thanks for the reply. I know when i was front line staff we got issued those but last 3 years been working under engineering staff who are not entitled to them. Was hoping to be able to sort out in one letter but thinking i might be a few for this.0
