Yes it's still possible to claim as long as you paid tax and haven't had the total sum rebated.
If you haven't got it rebated then claim as it's your money!!!My Motto in Life:

I'm on maternity now from tescos. Can I claim being a tesco employee? And can I claim even though I'm on maternity and not planning to go back when my year is up?0

Yes you will be able to claim retrospectively as per the 6 year rule0 -
thanks, so do you get it back in cash, or deducted off the tax you'll pay.. as I wont be paying tax since I won't be working or being taxed, if that makes sense.0

I wasn't aware of this situation. I work for a company which has a strict uniform policy and supplies clothing emblazoned with the company logo. I have been there since March of this year. However, for the seven years previous to this I worked in the security business and was supplied with a blazer (no logo) pullovers and shirts with logos. Would this last qualify?0

Then write to your tax office and tell them, i only got £45 extra tax allowance but it is backdated 6 years and its better than nothing
It only costs the price of a stamp so worth a try
Just posted my letter off to my local HMRC on the way back from picking up the weekend papers !:j
I'll keep everybody posted as to what happens, as I too am an NHS Employee who has to wash his own uniform
Damn fine idea, thanks to Deanos for pointing it out :money:0 -
Great News, after the Tax Office asked me to write to them with my details bout my employment they decided to review my code and my tax payments from 2000 and they sent me several letters with repayments owed, so I rang them yesterday and they confirmed that a Cheque for £204 was on its way to me!! Hurray!!! I promptly have it already spent by helping my partner by giving her the money when it clears so she can sort out the Tax and MOT on her car :-( shame I wouldve like the money but I need too help her."I AM THE GATEKEEPER OF MY OWN DESTINY" Nacho Libre

I posted off my letter to the tax office my employer used and got a letter (yippee i thought, its my cheque) asking me what i have been doing since 2004 to now. I wrote saying im not claiming any benefits as i am not entitled to anything, posted this letter off last week. Today i got another letter ( got a tad excited thinking it was a cheque) asking the same questions, only this time no prepaid envelope to send back the reply, i put that since 2004 i have been looking after my daughter since she was born in 2004 and have not claimed any benefits whatsoever. Will keep you posted as to what the outcome will be.And yes the lady in the avatar is me
