Hi, I did this a few years back and did get a rebate because I work in retail, but what I wanted to ask is, do I have to send the letter every year or does it just carry through until I change job?0

It normally just gets carried forward. A check of your Code Number will tell you?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

Hi paul no he dosent normally but has done so a few times also his code is 761L SO dont know if he gets relief or not0 -
apply the worst they can do is say he is not allowed it. they do check the ta returns for the period applied so if they owe you money you will get that. but if you owe them then a nasty letter. the wife had a 1200 refund and 277 in back fees ect. she is still owed the uniform allowance. so another 100-200 due0

It's probably me just being simple haha but anyway, I work in KFC and have done for about 4 years, before that I worked in McDonald's for about 5 years. (Mcdonald's July 03-Feb 08 and KFC Feb 08-present)
I have transfered stores twice (once in each company) so I am not sure if this will affect anything.
How do I work out how much I am entitled to? Also in McDonald's you had to provide your own shoes which never lasted more than a few months because the grease destroyed them, KFC supply shoes.
Thanks in advance

i think the foot wear is more aimed at groups like nurses and others that need the specifically for work. ie safty boots0

eek, I think you've just put me off McD's for life! Grease on shoes, I had never thought about that!
Anyway, would also be interested to know about if you have changed employers. OH has been transferred between 3 different organisations in recent years but always with a uniform, and I didn't realise you could claim cost of washing - in fact we've been married for y-e-a-r-s and I didn't know until recently, and have been washing uniform for all those years. So any help anyone can offer would be really appreciated. Also if anyone has an up to date sample letter I would be really grateful x :A0
