sometimes you have to live by your wits, and sometimes, its not a scam. you'll never know. i just got a £350 mattress for £50! i know its propper, cos i know the source!!!!

Its always either a scam or a fraud, normally both.

This is getting daft now,i dont want to repeat myself again so i will just be basic (taken in by scam ,where is the scam please somebody tell me)I got what i paid for and it does the job wheres the problem?.Is it to hard to understand maybe shops make big markup and i got it cheap,i feel like your the sort of person if somebody said here theres £100 keep it you would have an hours debate about it,where most people would say thanks and get on with there lives.I do believe one thing without a doubt,this tim guy either works for or owns a bed shop and dousnt want to lose buissness,one question will someone find me anyone who bought mattrees and had problem!.Becouse i have definetly not been ripped of as staded brfore if i had i am not to proud to admit it,but i wasnt.:A

Yes, Tim sells mattresses.
But does that mean that he is saying what he is saying because he doesn't want to lose business? Or does it mean that he actually knows what he is talking about?

Yes I do sell beds, but not on MSE, and I'm quite open about it.

Who was the supplier in Manchester? And what is the make and model of your mattress?

WELL WELL WELL,thats a turn up for the books recently i have been told by some on here i must be (bed seller)quite frankly i took with a pinch of salt i could even see the funny side.but it comes out tim is bed salesman!. Why am i defending these mattress sellers well i am not i am only speaking about the personel expereance i have had and it was very good,maybe all are not same quality, but the guys idealt with are not here to speak for themselves while they unfairly get slated!.so its only right that somebody speaks up for them (I BELIEVE IN A FAIR DISCUSSION).as i seem to be the only person on page who has bought one and slept on one i am in right position to comment.(TIM THE BED GUY)wants make and model etc,sounds fair enough but first answer my question-that i repeatedlt asked!WHERE OR WHAT IS THE SCAM!. maybe you just dont want everyone to know wholesale cost and jelous of others making money,so its easier to slate people who are not here to defend themselves. AND YES I KNOW MY GRAMMER IS BAD.thing is i am not a comunnist,fair trade for all.:A

No it's not a turn up for the books, it's very well known on MSE what I do.

The advice I give is to help stop other people making mistakes, because most people know very little about mattresses, and I presume you don't either. If your old mattress was terrible, then even a poor quality mattress may feel really comfortable, but this doesn't mean it's a good mattress.

If a company is selling them for £100 each, then they are either cheap dangerous imports from China, very very low quality mattresses, seconds, bankrupt stock, they don't actually contain any memory foam, or stolen. Because you can't make good quality memory foam mattresses for £100, let alone make a profit on it.

If you are trying to prove that it isn't a scam, then answer my questions.

If it looks too good to be true then it probably is.....

even if the story was true why would he risk his job by not taking them back to the warehouse and telling them there had been an error in the number oif mattresses loaded into the van in the first place - most places these days have barcode scanners to count them in, count them out as it were...

so, you would either have been scammed for £100 on a mattress worth less than that, or you would have been supporting the theft of goods ( maybe even receiving stolen goods, which is an offence in itself)

I think you did the right thing and can sleep easy tonight knowing you're no fool... of course your husband will be tossing and turning and worrying he could have been trying to get to sleep on a wonderful new mattress.:rotfl:

You mentioned Beverley a few posts back, a town a few miles down the road from Hull. Coincidence? I don't recall these mobile matteress scammers operating here before, so you can't have had your bed for that long. Maybe the reason you know so many people who have bought one, is that you sold them to them.
