Some git in a white van offered me 3 bottles of mineral water in a laptop bag for only £3. I snapped them up. When I got home the gits had swapped them for a Sony laptop.

    Lesson learnt.

  • My OH got caught out with one of these scams back in January. I was out and when I came home he was all chuffed with himself as he'd got us a new mattress to replace the bumpy, lumpy wrecked one. He paid £150 for it and they helped him in and everything! All I could think was you muppet. We don't have the cash to replace it but 8 months on its still going strong. I still think though how much longer has it got or when will I get cancer or something from sleeping on it :( Defo seemed to good to be true. He was told they were ex showhome (their are a lot of new houses being built around here) and cost £800 new.

I would have politely declined but he obviously thought he was getting a good deal. Worse is he is a huge fan of the real hussle!

  • My wife was sold a mattress by a man with a Geordie accent. Said he was from a company called nightsleep.co.uk. Showed her a double sided mattress apparently worth £700, she got it for £200. I emailed the company (there was no number of course) and they phoned from a whitheld no. and said they are not responsible. No idea who the seller was(they both sounded Geordie!) I said the mattress was made by your company and has a label on stating it is memory foam. He said there is memory foam deep inside the mattress, lol! Now I have begun small claim proceedings and reporting the company as I think they are covering up old mattresses and selling them as new. Don't believe they are registered either so tax man will have fun :-)

Anyone that buys anything like this deserves all they get. They obviously think they're getting a (most likely stolen) bargain, I seriously can't believe in this day and age people are shocked when it turns out they've been had..jokes on you, pirates!

The guy looked official, the van looked official, he showed me the website so I hardly thought I was buying something stolen. Hardly likely anyway when it was done in front of CCTV! The website is sending this guy round so that when you complain he is untraceable and they can deny all knowledge. Hardly amounts to buying stolen goods.

Correct - except insofar as it does
