no new news i'm afraid-we have 3 viewings on the house this week-surely someone must want to buy our lovely abode?? Sob0
-
Now then hold on to your hats we have an offer woo weeee. They did offer 120,00 but we said no so they came back with 122,000 we're debating what to do-it is less than we were hoping but its our only proper offer we've had since we put the house on in Jan. Its investors wanting to buy to let-which just shows there's no 1st time buyers out there.
Anyway taking hubby skydiving today(as you do) so we'll have a think about it.0 -
That is great. The market must be picking up a little.0
-
Lets hope so Michelle
Normal mort payments have gone out today and i've been chucking bits and bats at it so its down to 61800 which isn't too bad, which if we accept the 122,000 offer will give us 60,200 deposit for our next house.0 -
well we accepted their offer and we've had an offer on a house accepted so it's all go.
The new house is on a busyish road but it's got a garden which is a major bonus, we managed to get it slightly reduced to 214,000 wow that seems so much, i hope we're doing the right thing.
Oh, I saw an advert in a jewellery shop in town saying they were buying silver, which is great as i'm not a gold lover and i've only ever seen adverts for sellinggold. So i took in loads of broken bits and bobs and got £33 for it-which isn't too bad-mind you to compare i went to another place that is specifically for buying gold/silver and they were just going to offer £14 so it was worth shopping around.0 -
Good on you for getting money for your junk. I think I rushed into it a bit when I sold mine online as I just wanted rid the easy way, but i got £140 for about 25g. It is amazing what little weight goes for.
Keep us in the loop about the house move. Sounds like you are getting a good place with a garden. I couldn't not have one now with the kids.0 -
Hi cocalls
Have you moved yet? And pleeeeeeaaaaase spill the beans on your estate agents. I am racking my brains to think of an EA with steps up to it
Lovely to meet you today, such a small world isn't it!Updating soon...0 -
hi courgette
no we haven't moved yet i'm afraid, i'm going to ring my solicitors today to see what's going on. I have a horrible feeling that the person we're buying off still hasn't found anywhere. Now i know why people say that moving house is one of the most stressful things ever nothing seems to be going right.
Will happily name and shame the useless estate agents-they're Churchills but i live in a different city to the one i work in so dont know if they have them there.
Anyway the mort is now down to 60578.50 and we have £6157 in savings so that's not too bad.0 -
I concur that churchills are a bit rubbish - only have experience of the York ones though.
Known in the 'trade' as 'wide boys'. Like to work with a lot of local landlords promising things or over valuing their stockOPs so far £42,139

but guess what-we have a moving date the 26th sept wooooooweeeeeee finally! It's slightly daunting though as we now have so much to do but i'm soooo looking forward to living in a bigger new place. I actually made my voice hurt the other day shouting at next door to shut up and stop arguing, i wont miss them at all.0
