Tierd of living in a shoe box

It would do that but ive heard that it makes you look a bit desperate-not that we aren't!!
Anyway we're going to reduce the price to £129,950-hopefully that will get things shifting.
I've ordered a valued opinions voucher for Tesco for £10 so that should help with the spiralling food costs. We have a budget for £50/week and OH spent £63 on fri-unfortuntaly most of the things he got were on the list and needed (apart from the £5 in beer though!!) We'regoing to have tobe super frugal with food next week as we'll only have £37 to spend. We have quite a bit in the freezer including a giant haggis for 10 people which OH bought for £2 the days after Burns night-any idea what to do with it? I think i'll ask on the old style board.0 -
well the old style board came up trumps with haggis receipes-though i think i'll draw the line at haggis curry!!
OH has won £100 worth of vouchers at work for being the best employer so we're going to ask for tesco vouchers which will help with the food dilema.
We've got an expensive weekend coming up, i'm going to skipton to visit a friend today then we're going out for two meals over the week end, mmmm need some money from somewhere.......0 -
Well the house has been reduced but still no viewers......
The normal mortgage payment has gone out today and ive put an extra 2.24 in to round it up-so the mort now stands at 62,700. We're absolutly skint now though and OH wants to put the vouchers he won towards cinema and pizza express vouchers so we can pay for several nights out over time. I know where he's coming from as he says its extra money and he got it for hard work so wants to use it for treats but it doesn't help with our budget. Oh well.0 -
I'm with OH. You've had a very stressful year and a few money neutral treats will do you both good. Short term the £100 would help, but the benefit to both of you from the cinema and meals out could be worth a lot more than that IFSWIM. Could you maybe have £30 of Tesco vouchers & treat yourself with the rest?
How was the haggis by the way? What did you do with it? I love haggis, such cute little things and so tastyA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

i'll ask OH and see what he says about getting £30 tesco vouchers-good idea.
And no the Haggis eating marathon hasn't started yet-i'm thinking nxt week.0 -
I'm also with your OH on that one.. Vouchers were a nice little extra so they could be used partially for some treats to stop the MF quest turning into a chore. I think becoming mortgage free is shuch a long process that you need to have balance to make it otherwise resentment sets in.
I love haggis, I form it into little fingers, cover in breadcrumbs and then shallow fry in hot oil, serve with a side salad and a dip made from mayo and lemon juice very very yum.Making fairy steps towards being mortgage free... 117 months to go.... :eek:0 -
well we're just starting to recover from our 4 day haggis eatingathon-i dont think i'll do that again as much as i love haggis.
Unfortunately Oh has decided to spend the vouchers (and i was mistaken as he won two awards and it was £200) on amazon so he can buy himself dvds and cds-gggrrrr-oh well i suppose it was his treat for working so hard. Anyway savings are up to pre car disaster levels. I'm back to work on weds sob and i haven't achieved my aim of getting the mort to 59,999 but hey ho priorities have changed and the aim is to move out of this shoe box. We have someone coming to view tomorrow so fingers crossed.0 -
Good luck for the viewing tomorrow!

oh dear i've been neglecting this diary-well im back at work and it's going so so, i'm missing bubs but to be honest im liking the time out of the house.
We're going with different estate agents, we've had to give the others 2 weeks written notice so on the 14th we'll be with the new ones. The new estate agent was amazed when we told him we'd only had one first time buyer to look round and we didn't get any feedback from them as he said they've got loads on their books well we shall see.
Normal mort payment went out today so its down to 62340.000
