hi everyone, glad to hear some are doing better
they do say if your mum had a bad menopause then u are likely too, dont think i shall ask my mum cos i seem to think hers wasnt good
i actually feel really crap right now. not sure if its circumstantial stuff or the meno thats causing it
oh well
take care all
not that my mum will talk about things like that but i think she suffered with the flushes........ after a fairly early hysterectomy.
 is how I feel at the moment - the signs are there.... last month's period lasted from 31st April until 31st May - there were 10 days off in the middle when gP gave me some tablets.....
And since - nothing except PMT like symptoms.....for 2 weeks...
I had really bad eczema last winter - and it's never really cleared up - more and more i think my skin is drying out......:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

I googled this product and something attacked my computer....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
I'm only 41 but have been in early menopause for a few years now..
was sterilised in my early 30's and was warned this will start things earlier...
Combine that with MS, its fun fun fun
Only wish i could go for hysterectomy to stop it all, but NHS policy is heavy painful periods and drugs not working.
For me is periods are when they want to turn up, which is anything between 20-28 days, the weeks are getting shorter in between, thank god i carry spares around with me as i never know, apart from annoying little pain just as it starts, then all hell breaks loose and my back goes for 24 - 48 hours.
Wow the hot flushes, weren't too bad in winter i didn't mind that, but now summer is here... a bit of a pain.0 -
i too was sterilised in my thirties - no warning at all!
Mind you I have made it to 49...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Hi all,
I'm still reading through all previous posts but feel as though i should post too.
I'm 46 and have been having sweats, joint pain, itching for over 6 mths now,i was on HRT but because the itching is still going on the doctor took me off it. I have tried all sorts off anti histimines etc and nothing has stopped it,i can cope with the pain but the itching drives me to distraction, the only way i can get some relief is by having a hot bath and submerging myself in it and then covering in aqueous cream.
I'm also trying detox teas, have stopped drinking tea and coffee, changed to soya milk, don't use anything scented in the bath etc but its till here.
Does anyone else have the itching really bad and any advice would be good
thanks0 -
Hi Mrsm, sorry to hear you have that itching. I used to scratch and scratch my arms and legs, especially at night. One thing I found was that cutting out/ down on sweeteners helped enormously - in fact it maybe stopped it altogether. I used to take 2 in my tea and also drink no added sugar squash as well as ate loads of fruit (the worst of my itching was last summer). I put on some hydrocortisone ointment (not cream) on itchy bits but was careful to avoid broken skin. Wondering if camomile in the bath might help - you can add a couple of 'tea' bags. I also bought some aqueous cream which was mixed with calomine (sp?) lotion in my small chemist. That helped a bit too.

Welcome mrsmuggy
If you think your itching might be some kind of skin sensitivity then check out what washing powder/softeners you use - I can't use anything biological and never use softener cos it used to drive my skins nuts!
Also if you think you're skin is drying out then perhaps investigate increasing the 'good fats & oils' in your diet as well as drinking plenty of water - I accidently discovered this when my skin went very dry then I worked in Scotland for a time, having to eat out all the time and within a week or so my dry skin had disappear going back to its oily self!

mrsmuggy, the itching might be hayfever. This year lots of people are suffering. Mine (itching)seems to be worse when there is tree pollen. Have you tried arnica gel? That sometimes helpsBuilding a new life after bankruptcy0

Thankyou for all your welcomes and also answers,WMF- i've cut out milk, coffee, tea, chocolate(begrudgingly) and i have started to eat more fruit and drink lots of water, think this has helped but i have good days and bad days like everyone on here.
Nappentass- water drinking i am doing but what are the good fats and oils please?
Don't think i'm allergic to anything because i've checked that i haven't changed washing powder etc, been through everything on that line.
MTdancer- don't think its hayfever but you never know these days,i have heard that arnica gel helps itching but didn't know anyone that had used it,so might try that next.
I'm getting really fed up and miserable with it to be honest because i feel that if i don't stick to my routine that it will be worse, which it was the other night when we went out for my birthday, when i got back late i had to get in the bath to sooth the itching.
Going on holiday soon and i must admit i'm panicing abit as don't know if they will have a bath for me to soak in,showers aren't the same for me.
Sorry for the long post but i felt that i had to answer everyone.0 -
