    Hi all,
I'm still reading through all previous posts but feel as though i should post too.
I'm 46 and have been having sweats, joint pain, itching for over 6 mths now,i was on HRT but because the itching is still going on the doctor took me off it. I have tried all sorts off anti histimines etc and nothing has stopped it,i can cope with the pain but the itching drives me to distraction, the only way i can get some relief is by having a hot bath and submerging myself in it and then covering in aqueous cream.
I'm also trying detox teas, have stopped drinking tea and coffee, changed to soya milk, don't use anything scented in the bath etc but its till here.
Does anyone else have the itching really bad and any advice would be good
    thanks

The itching could be due to lack of estrogen - Suzanne Somers talked about it in her book. Go back to your doctor and get your estrogen levels tested. You could try bio-identical HRT and may even be able to get it from your doctor as some conventional HRT now uses bio-identicals. Or you could have a look at Maca powder which helps to balance hormones.

Couldn't sleep last night for being itchy! Serves me right for say ah this has passed! Note to self...with the meno ASSUME NOTHING. Anyway, got up and took an antihistamine (Piriton) and was fine. This is not medical advice. My dog has piriton sometimes for summer allergy. Again something that works for her.
    Roll on cool winter nights.

I'm enduring itchy feet and its a real pain! Never gave Piriton a thought, but, despite your statement that it is not medical advice, I might give this a try just to see if it may bring some relief? Its either that or I chop them off: oh, decisions, decisions! My mother called "ithcy feet" the urge to move home/change location ;) How I wish my feet would go on vacation :(

3v3 - what about getting up and having a foot soak in coolish water if they are itchy at night? Maybe followed by calamine lotion? Not nice to have itchy feet. Roll on cold weather with cool nights (remind me of this in Jan when I moan).

ha! have just noticed I've repeated myself from my last post re cool nights. What was that about meno and memory again? hehehe

Hello all menos - Hope things are going a bit better for those suffering.
I got some HRT but started a period two days afterwards - weird as hadn't had one since about feb I think?
Got told it was a no bleed one?
Itching is bad & a lot seem to suffer from it. I do rub in moisturiser a lot & find that when out & washing my hands with those anti-bacterial gel, foam things in loos - my hands flare up the next day - that stuff is so bad for your skin - I try & just use water, but usually forget.
Hope that we are all going to get a bit of Summer - last few days have been good & that does help.
All the best to all & hope the sleepless get some better nights kip soon.

Hi Choille and All Menio Friends,

choille -welcome to the 'reluctant' HRT clan. I think it takes time for the hormone to settle in the body. I'm taking one third of a tablet which keep flushes at bay, but if I go down to a quarter they creep back. I used to endure the evening and night-time itchies until HRT. They are maddening, but even though my skin is really dry still, the itching has all but vanished now.

Just had an awful throat cold thing & felt pretty rough for a while. Still catching in the throat but on the way out.

Oh, the nights getting longer.... Still the sun has some strength still. My little rabbit is getting old and her appetite is waning. I'll be hunting the lanes and verges for some dandelions and milkthistle again today to tempt her little palate. Yes, I know, just a rabbit......

Still got a period which is rather draining - have stopped the HRT as I think that's wot done it. I still feel crap & probably even crapper after weeks of heavy period - I'm so tired I keep nodding off. I just want to curl into a ball & cry all the time - pathetic.
