    Hiya Folks,

Sooooo sick of this weather. Sorry Choille! I'm a southern wimp!!

Just drove down country lane to visit Mum, packed white icy stuff with 3ft ditches either side. I've come home feeling tearful as I felt so scared. Didn't vist B/f at the w/e cos of weather & he kept saying how confident he feels driving in the snow & it just highlighted how shaky I feel. Just want to curl up and feel safe.

Choille sorry about the chook. Will you/ did you erm, cook it. Hope that wasn't insensitive of me. eeek. I do get ice on the inside of windows, on the bits that I didn't get double glazed 2 yrs ago.

Bronnie - hope the shoulder has eased. As it came on so suddenly, it'll probably ease off quite quickly. Cheese butties are good when fried. My mum used to do them & call them cheesy dreams. Yu um.:D

Dogcat - foot of snow! Pleeeease take care. It's the melt/freeze thing that's so dangerous.

Back is gippy today & I'm succumbing to painkillers. Looking forward to bed & hopefully oblivion.;)

Shykins, hope all is well with you.

All the best to all others out there in MenoVille.

Aw! Remember the fund-raising evening I went to last week for Mia, young lady with "locked in syndrome". Her neighbours had rallied round and the road was nominated for the Sainsbury's "Perfect Christmas" street party competition that has been on tele over the past weeks.

Out of 45,000 entrants, THEY WON!!

    So pleased!

    Hello Peeps,

Winter solstice, shortest day, full moon & lunar eclipse - well that's my excuse for feeling grumpy y'day. New day, much brighter (me that is) even though it's thick fog here, but drip, drip, drip yay!

Shykins, what a fantastic windfall.:j You just never know what's around the corner. So, pleased for you.:D

Bronnie, another bit of news of a winner. :DWow, what a nice piece of 'feel good' cheer. How's the shoulder?

Talking of solstice, every year when b/f, myself and his 2 daughters get together for xmas I do a 'ceremony'. It started off a few years ago as 'oh let's indulge joyfull with her weird:eek: ideas...' to part & parcel of xmas. We gather round the log fire (TV OFF) dim the lights & I'll start lighting candles, incense, dowsing peeps with lavender water, & we all share a little something about the year gone and what we'd like for the year ahead. It's very intimate and quiet with the crackling of the fire and inner reflection. We finish off with a little glass of something nice. Everyone loves it, it's a sweet pause in the madness that's now become xmas.

Hello to choille, dogcat and all others having a little look at menoville.:A

    Hello All:

Joyful - Choille sorry about the chook. Will you/ did you erm, cook it. Hope that wasn't insensitive of me. eeek.

Anything found dead isn't eaten - you don't know what it's died of - not that hungry yet! I'm not into roadkill either. We do eat the young cockerels though.

Happy solstice to all too - shortest day is what we consider more important than actual Christmas - which just seems to be a spending frenzy for some.
Very cold here again - was supposed to thaw but it's well below freezing & they aren't putting salt on the roads here - so won't be going anywhere until they do.

I sold my two items on ebay - one 99p the other £2.20 so not gonna be rolling in it just yet, but it's start. Will wait until the roads are clear before doing owt else.

Great news about the comp winners - lovely stuff.

Bronnie - hope the shoulder eases off a bit, that sounds painful. I sit hunched & end up feeling it at this time of year. I just phoned health centre to se where my appointments gotten with physio as that was about two months back I saw the doc, but all evasive - so don't think that'll happen soon.

Well off to feed the sheep, put hens in for the night. Such a bright moon & clear sky again - looks like we've moved to Canada & blubbery feels like we've moved to Canada - Br

Keep warm & don't go out if you don't need to.

    Just noted the post's number:eek:

Tesco look likely to cancel my order for Thurs, but wont tell me for definite as they only decide on the day. What use is that to me? Spent today wrapping presents and keeping warm we are down to -11, so, tomorrow do I shop or clean?.....oh the choices!!

I feel really let down by Tesco they could have at least said we could collect if they cancel delivery.

Anyway we will not starve, but it is damned inconvenient, and I think it is overbooking not just the weather, as the cancellations appear random.

You all sound as if you are much improved, as am I (not sure why) still not got into the habit oftaking the supplements so it can't be that. Greatews about the compwinners, I hope it lifts the spirits of Mia's family, very sad story and puts our issues into perspective.

Happy Christmas one and all, I hope it is a happy and healthy(ier) new year for everyone on here, and that during 2011 we can all continue to support each other during our Meno journey.

    Well hello Menos!

Poet hope you sorted Tescos out. The so called customer service is outrageous, they KNOW you need to be able to rely on a delivery at this time of year. I'm not a fan of theirs but they are my local shop .. grrr!

Hi puppy - maybe our flushes kill off the bugs so we don't get ill because of them. Frozen poo, OMG, s'pose it's easier to shift. I live in a mobile home and it has lots of advantages, BUT, please do your research re. the park owner. We have many rogue owners in the UK who are making our lives a misery (it was debated for 2.5 hrs in parliament just last week!). Even if a site is owned by a goodie then if they sell up a UPO (Unscrupulous Park Owner) my well purchase it. A park home still requires expense and work to keep it in good shape. I'd be happy to answer more detailed questions if you want to pm me.

Choille - congrats on the ebay sales. Could be the start of a bit of an earn.

I had a 'moment' in town y'day. Had to go in to do banking & stuff & lots of the pavements were packed ice. I felt panicked and at one point just stood there paralysed & burst into tears. Couldn't move, OMG everybody looking. A lovely lady just took my hand and helped me bakc to the car. I couldn't stop crying. So afraid of falling. Oh well, I'm living up the the stereotypical menopausal image. What to do! I'm beyond caring what peeps think and it's quite liberating.

Off to b/fs today & will stay for a few days. Taking rabbit, which she loves - a whole new place to chew and tunnel in and more people to beg treats from.

Lovely Menos, I wish you all a peaceful Christmas. Whether you're with a screaming mob or on you're own, sending you hugs and warm vibes. It'll all be over in no time.
